WHAT HAPPENS AT A
TYPICAL CLUB MEETING?
At each meeting, we open with club
business. Then we host a speaker of interest,
such as the general manger of Mercedes
Benz of Gainesville, a local repair shop
that specializes in working on Mercedes
vehicles. Occasionally, members share their
stories - such as how I totally restored
my 1963 230 SL all by myself in only
13 years, or how we raced a 1955 Gullwing
at Bonneville. We welcomed Congressman
Daniel Webster to talk on automotive topics
as well. When the meeting is over, after
Split-the-Pot and door prizes, we head out
to a local restaurant for more camaraderie.

INTERESTING EVENT.
We try to have a fun event every month.
Our biggest event of the year will be the
second annual All-German Car Show
at Harbor Hills Country Club, which we
produce along with the BMW Z Club and
two local Porsche clubs. We recently had
a private tour of Dezerland in Orlando
and a great trip to Tarpon Springs with a
private tour by a local expert. We planned
it as a day trip, but half of the group stayed
overnight and had a great dinner together,
all unplanned.

drive our cars.
WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST
ACCOMPLISHMENT AS
A CLUB?
Growing a new club from five members
in 2018 to over 250 members today.
Organizing and putting on the All-German
Car Show for the last two years with over
100 participants and vendors. We raised
almost $6,000 for our 2021 charity, Dollars
for Scholars, and we want to raise a lot more
for DFS in 2022 at our second show.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOPES AND
PLANS FOR THE FUTURE?
We look forward to a bigger and better All-German Car Show this
year, and we may be inviting other European brands to participate.
The combination of a beautiful shady venue, beautiful cars, music,
food and brand-specific vendors in the fall season should attract a
lot of interest for local car nuts. We also have a very active Trips &
Tours committee that plans events each month for club members,
including a four-hour St. John's River Cruise, which was slated
to host 40-people, but within four days, we'd sold all 40 seats, so
we arranged to add reservations and we were able to get a large
private room for 56 on the boat. It only took another week for the
remaining 16 seats to be sold.
