f there was any doubt about this community’s continued drive to offer recreational opportunities for residents, that doubt should be put to rest. As new residents stream into The Villages, new recreation facilities are being built to accommodate them. The St. James and Tamarind Grove neighborhood centers are the latest additions to The Villages recreation facilities. Director of recreation John Rohan discussed the features at the twin sites.

Of prime importance are the postal facilities, where residents retrieve their mail, send out their bill payments and correspondence, and converse with their neighbors. Almost as significant are the swimming pools. “This brings us to 57 pools,” Rohan said, stating the latest count of recreation department-offered places where residents can kick back and cool off on a hot day. Facilities manager Joseph Bouthillette said swimming pools are among Villages residents’’ favorite place to spend time. The pools at the St. James and Tamarind Grove neighborhood centers are no exceptions.
