Mother's Day twins

The scene was straight from a movie, only it wasn't.
It was Mother's Day, 1947. A car sped through the city,
weaving through the Bronx, New York, with the chaos of a
mother giving birth blaring like a bad song in the backseat.
After pulling up to Parkchester Hospital, the young woman's husband dashed inside to summon a doctor. When he
returned, a surprise awaited. Three lovely ladies greeted
the man: his wife and two baby girls.
Two?
Mother's Day twins Ronni and Randy made the front
page of the Daily News for their extraordinary arrival into
the world. It was a shock to all, especially their father.
"Nobody knew our mother was carrying twins," Randy
said. "Although mom said she suspected it - by instinct,
I suppose."

And if giving birth in an automobile wasn't tough
enough, the most difficult part came later. With a baby
boy at home already, Ronni and Randy's parents had three
little ones to care for in their cramped, one-bedroom apartment.
"Mom had her hands full," Randy said. "But she was
strict so we couldn't get away with much."
"We were afraid of her," Ronni added, laughing.
