The Hogeye Preserve Pathway also is
open! The pathway begins at Cattail Recreation
Area and winds throughout the numerous
natural spots in the area around Cattail.
"The Hogeye Preserve Pathway is a beautiful
trail that highlights the natural beauty of
Florida," Jacobs said. "Enjoy gorgeous views
of the Hogeye Nature Preserve featuring an
abundance of wildlife and plant life."

Water features are spread throughout the
course, and Florida wildlife flits among the trees,
ponds and the adjacent Hogeye Water Basin.
Marsh View Pitch & Putt is open to Villagers
and their guests, and guest fees are comparable
to a 9-hole executive course.
"All 18 holes are about a 2-mile walk," Storbeck said. "An efficient golfer can finish in about
an hour and 45 minutes. On average, it's taken
(golfers) a little over two hours to do all 18 holes."
Shorter times mean it is easier for golfers
to bring friends and family who may be newer
to golf to learn and enjoy the sport without
dedicating an entire day to it. As Storbeck
said, it is less intimidating for amateurs while
still providing great short game practice for
experienced golfers - fun for whoever decides to
play a round.
With the other amenities offered nearby,
Storbeck encourages Villagers to spend a day
enjoying everything the southern end of The
Villages has to offer.
"This is just such a beautiful piece of
property," Storbeck said. "If you're going to come
down here, make a day of it. Come down and
play (Marsh View), have a couple beers, go eat at
the Fenney Grill, go to the Fenney Putt & Play -
make a whole day of it."
Both the Cattail Recreation Area and Marsh
View Pitch & Putt are open for business, and the
food truck area at Cattail is slated to open later
this summer.
