"There's a lot to learn," she said. A member of the Visual Arts Association and The Villages Art League, Dotzauer has had her work featured in Glass Art magazine and Slumpy's catalog. She displays her work at various shows throughout the year, and has made friends locally and in other provinces. "A world-renowned artist invited me to her home in British Columbia," she said. "My husband and I took the trip; her husband picked us up from the airport and we drove four hours to her three-story log cabin near Alaska. I taught her my vitrograph methods and worked in her 3,000-square-foot studio. She had 11 kilns and a plasma laser cutter. It was an awesome experience." Dotzauer's newfound friend is planning a trip to The Villages this fall. "My club friends are so excited - she is going to teach a workshop at Eisenhower," she said. MAGAZINE 25
