The recipe will remain as time passes, but that book will continue to grow as more friends and family gather around to create that same recipe and the love that was put into it in the years to come. Take a look at eight Villagers' recipes and hear some of the stories behind each of them as we head outside for the summer season. David Goodman David Goodman of The Village of Buttonwood loved cooking since he could remember. The former Chicago resident was a gourmet club member for more than 30 years. One of the activities the club hosted, was when at least 30 people would dine at another member's house; everyone would bring an assigned dish. David likes to use the experience he has to make up various recipes of his own, but there are only so many he holds special. One of them in particular is for cold strawberry soup--a recipe his mother passed down to him. " I remember one barbecue dinner, " David said. " We served this in glasses while we hung out on the patio. It is always a hit, as it is quite unusual. " David and his wife Louise have been involved in several dining groups " since their second day here " in The Villages. " Louise says I was probably a chef in a former life, " David said. 20 JUNE 2022 Cold Strawberry Soup
