In The Village of Virginia Trace, your
seat at the cinema awaits. You'll find hot,
buttered popcorn, complimentary confections and a
cozy spot on a circular sofa. Welcome to the home of
Joe and Barb Restifo, or as they like to call it: Patrick
Place Cinema. If you're a friend of the Restifos, you're
privy to the cheapest tickets in town - free. It all starts
with an invitation.
"We send them out with a link to the movie trailer,"
Joe said. "It might be a thriller, a drama or a chick flick.
Last week we watched "A Dog's Way Home."

At a typical theater, the movie is the main event. But
at Patrick Place Cinema, the preshow packs the house.
"The party starts at 7 p.m., and everyone shows up
on time," Joe said. "It's too much fun to miss!"
To personalize the experience, Joe creates a custom
movie teaser that includes 15 minutes of the latest pop
music videos followed by The Villages Vmail to keep
residents in the loop, final announcements, photos
from recent events, a roll call of new visitors and a
thank you for attending the show. Joe's videos also
contain standard reminders: turn off cell phones and
enjoy candy and drinks in the lobby.
"I just have fun recreating the feeling of being in
the cinema," he said.
