Travel just about anywhere in the state and you will find an amalgamation of names and titles - English, Native American, French, Spanish and more. So, where do many of the Central Florida names we see and hear every day come from? Let's take a look. LAKE COUNTY The most aptly-named of the three counties that host The Villages, Lake County was named for - you guessed it - the many beautiful lakes that sparkle and shine in the county.
