Republican V.P. nominee Sarah Palin made her first Florida campaign stop in The Villages on Sept. 21 and was met by an enthusiastic crowd. Villagers in the Buffalo Booster Club love to cheer and ring their cowbells for all The Villages Charter School student athletes. The boosters also are busy planning an October fundraiser to benefit their annual college scholarship awards. The Villages Aquatics Swim Team (VAST) has gained attention for winning swim meets and more than 5,000 medals from local, state and national Senior Games. Yet the team credits the coaches for their wins. Meet the coaches and learn what inspires them.
