Yogurt Your Way Buffalo Ridge boasts a sweet addition to its selection of retail stores with HighFive Frozen Yogurt. The colorful space features self-service frozen yogurt with 10 machines containing a variety of flavors including low fat, non-fat and no sugar added. Customers begin with a cup and dispense exactly the amount they wish, choosing as many flavors as they want and then finishing their creation from a selection of more than 30 toppings including fruit, nuts, cereal, crushed cookies and candies and more. A scale is used to weight the final product and customers pay by the ounce. “Every day we’ll have 10 flavors available of soft-serve frozen yogurt. We have about 35 to 40 in our system and those will rotate throughout the week. Chocolate is our number-one seller. Our tart line also is very popular with strawberry, blueberry and other flavors. They are all good in my mind, it just depends on what you’re craving that day,” said general manager Robert Keane. Villagers seem to enjoy making their own creative desserts. “We’ve heard nothing but excellent things. The reception has been really good,” Keane said. The Villages’ franchise is the third store in the group located at 4058 Wedgewood Lane in Buffalo Ridge Shopping Center. Store hours: Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Business Briefs Retail Briefs GO & DO at Peterbrooke Chocolatier Peterbrooke Chocolatier, located at Canal Street in Lake Sumter Landing, has added a selection of packaged gourmet flavored coffee to its selection of delectable items. Known for European-style chocolate, three of the four coffee flavors contain that flavor influence: Chocolate Blend, Chocolate Hazelnut, Raspberry Mocha and Premium Roast. “We knew this would be a great market for coffee,” said Veronica Barnes, owner of Peterbrooke of The Villages. “It tastes great, and they (customers) love it.” The premium coffee is pre-ground and packaged in bright blue 12-ounce sealed bags. These bags have become popular items to add to the store’s gift baskets. “We have some coffee added into our selection of $25 readymade gift baskets with some of our popular chocolate candies. Customers are also welcome to add our new coffee into any custom basket with items they personally choose,” Barnes said. In addition to adding variety to gift baskets, Barnes suggested the coffee makes a wonderful hostess gift. “We’ll be sampling the coffee in the store daily to let customers try it. We’ve had really positive feedback. Chocolate Hazelnut seems to be the favorite flavor,” Barnes said. The store’s hours are Monday through Saturday: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday noon to 5 p.m. OCTOBER 2010 Flavored Coffees
