Autumn is one of the best times
of the year because it reminds me
of cooler times coming and the
sweets you can buy at the festivals
- caramel apples, toffees, cotton
candy, and pumpkin and apple pies.
Then there are all the vendors with
their wonderful craft decorations
and the food vendors with great
food to try.

My favorite fall activity is the
craft fair at Lake Sumter Landing.
They have so many vendors
with beautiful gifts. I like to
do some Christmas shopping,
and last year I purchased
two stuffed rabbits that had my
granddaughter's names on them.
They love them.

I enjoy the outdoor craft festivals
held at the town squares. Being
an artist myself, it is interesting
to see all the different crafts made
by other equally crafty vendors.
Sometimes I buy and sometimes I
just get ideas for future things I
will make myself.

I enjoy the 5K events on the squares.

My favorite fall event in The Villages
would have to be Oktoberfest at Spanish
Springs (Town Square). We have friends
in the Drum Corps as well as the
Twirlers, and it's always fun to watch
them perform. With the varied musical
entertainment and German food venders,
it makes for a great celebration.
