The thing I look forward to in the fall, no
matter when I was living in Boston, D.C.,
Indianapolis, Miami, Charleston, Sarasota,
or now here, in The Villages, is New England
Patriots Football.

Our favorite October thing is closing up our
Connecticut camper and heading back home to
The Villages.

I like making homemade applesauce and
apple butter. I can several pints to bring
autumn to my kitchen throughout the year.
The sweet smell of apples and cinnamon
cooking on the stove reminds me of playing
in the autumn leaves when I was a kid.

Villagers. It's such a fun group.

I like to visit Disney parks, of course. The
Food and Wine Festival is an annual favorite.
Lots of things to see, wine to sample and tasty
treats. We call it "Dining around the World."
There also are fun concerts with performers I
remember from earlier years, playing songs I
listened to on my car radio (and still do). Not
much is better on a cool fall day - wandering
around, going on some rides, enjoying some
laughter with friends, and ending with a concert
under the stars. It brings back memories of
going to the parks with my son. He grew up
with Disney as his playground, and it is still
special to me because it reminds me of our time
together. We were truly "Goofy" together!

Our favorite October and November activities
for the past several years is, and has been,
either planning for, having, or recuperating
from surgery. Rotator cuff, meniscus, eye,
Achilles - looking forward with anticipation
to next year.
