Village Rio Ranchero residents Jim and Holly
Sinkewicz decorate the inside and outside of
their home, and they throw a party for their
entire village.
"We've gotten the whole neighborhood into
it now," Holly laughed. "I think last year we had
65 (people) pass through."
At their home in Connecticut, the couple
would always decorate for Halloween, and Holly
design a different scene every year.
"Every Halloween, I'd transform something
in the house or outside the house," Holly said. "I
had the haunted walkway, the haunted deck -
the basement I really did. That was really cool."
Holly spent 27 years working for a daycare,
and her Halloween decorations would often
bring out not only the children she worked
with, but other members of their community as
well - neighbors, friends and anyone else who
learned about their Halloween setup.
"It just became a very loving holiday," Holly
said. "I just love to dress up."
Jim and Holly use a similar process for their
Halloween decorations here in The Villages.
They try something new every year - a
different layout, new props and new scenes to
display for their Halloween party.
