Nostalgia trumps new and modern when it
comes to their kitchen décor. But this throwback
to the 50s was not the original design. Debby and
Glenn Davis say a series of unfortunate events are what
shaped their retro room.
In need of new appliances at the start of the global
pandemic, the couple realized that supply chain
shortages would make shopping extremely difficult. After
ordering a refrigerator and dishwasher, the couple waited
weeks for appliances that ultimately never showed up.
" We were given one delivery date after another, and
it just didn't happen, " Debby said. The couple scoured
other stores until they realized they'd been searching in
all the wrong places.

" I was never a fan of stainless steel, " she said, which
is what they were initially looking for. Rather than
following the trends, Debby decided to follow her heart.
After turning to the internet, they landed on a
website called " Big Chill, " which offers appliances in a
palette of custom colors, including a jadeite green that
instantly won them over.
" We hadn't given it much thought, but when we
saw the retro-look appliances, we knew it was exactly
what we wanted, " Debby said. " We love green. "
To further enhance the look, they added a quartzite
sink in mint green, a matching microwave, air fryer,
coffee machine and other kitchen accessories. What
they couldn't find in their chosen shade of green, Glenn
