Spotlight Donning Aprons, Doing gooD At the WilDWooD soup Kitchen By RICA LEWIS It's been a decade since Paul Danis first donned an apron in the Wildwood Soup Kitchen. His volunteer role is fastpaced and laborious, but well worth the work. "I always look forward to it," Danis said. "I take pleasure in making a difference. Many of the people we serve only get this one hot meal every day." In addition to his generous spirit, Danis has the culinary chops to make tasty meals for the masses. His education happened decades ago and by accident, when a mix-up in the Army forced him into the kitchen. "They got my number confused and I ended up in a small kitchen learning to cook with a dozen other guys," he said. 44 NOVEMBER 2017
