Model Railroad Club Conducting Good Times at Local Train Shows It's a small world, after all. The Villages Model Railroad Club is happy to show you. The quaint towns they've created are magical places where miniature trains whiz through tiny tunnels and weave around clusters of trees and charming brick buildings. It's a hobby that evokes nostalgia, appeals to people of all ages and requires skill and creativity to construct the intricate dioramas and displays. Club leader Alan Goldberg said around 140 train enthusiasts make up the group, and together they talk trains, conduct meetings and coordinate events. "We do four shows a year - two expos, Camp Villages and the Christmas Show," Goldberg said. "Although it's lots of hard work, we have fun preparing the layouts and seeing people enjoy what we've done." MAGAZINE 9
