Nancy Full Cycle Tree Farm 2007 North Central RegionalOutstanding Tree Farmer of the Year Livingston LIVES UP to Its Name By Preece KATHLEEN Nancy Livingston’s Full Cycle Tree Farm is the best one-woman Tree Farm in the North Central region of the United States. And she has the title to prove it, earning the 2007 North Central Regional Outstanding Tree Farmer of the Year Award, bestowed last October at the National Tree Farm Convention in Madison, Wisconsin. 22 This story began in a sandy pine barrens in rural Wisconsin. Despite the look of the wind-blown and treeless farm fields at the start of the 20th century, one couple could see the land’s potential. Established by Nancy’s parents, Spencer and Laura Munson, in 1954, this Big Flats, Wisconsin, property was immediately put under a written forest management plan — and has continued under a plan for the entire 53 years of family ownership. For 28 of those years the property has been certified as a Tree Farm.
