ALUMNI
The CU School of Dental Medicine is fortunate to have dedicated faculty
who tirelessly support our students in extraordinary ways. To recognize
outstanding leadership and service, we identify individuals who are critical
to the success of our alma mater and invite them to join our school's legacy
as honorary alumni. CU Dental is honored to welcome Dr. Jack
Goodrich and Ms. Heidi Tyrrell as our 2017 Honorary Alumni.

HONORARY
ALUMNI

DR. JACK GOODRICH received his BA from Fresno
State College in 1967, and his DDS degree from the
University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1971.
He then spent two years in active duty in the US Naval
Dental Corp in San Diego, California, after which he moved
to the San Francisco Bay area and practiced in San Leandro,
California for 34 years as a general dentist. In 2006, he sold his practice and moved with
his wife, Deanna, to enjoy the beauty and outdoor activities in Colorado. Dr. Goodrich and
Deanna are avid golfers, fly fishers, scuba divers and hikers. For Dr. Goodrich, teaching is a
passion, learning is never ending, and the students are the best.
MS. HEIDI TYRRELL completed her dental hygiene degree in 1991 in Rochester New York. She
started working for Eastman Dental Center Department of Periodontology, running all clinical
research. In 1996, she completed her Bachelor's in psychology with a minor in biochemistry
and education, all while working with periodontists from the dental school. Heidi moved to
Colorado in 1998 to be closer to her family and continued working in a private periodontal
practice until coming to the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in 2013 as a
research coordinator. In 2014, she became the first manager of the CU Heroes Clinic, which
incorporates two of her favorite things; dentistry and helping veterans. When not working,
Heidi enjoys gardening, home DIY projects and restoring antique chairs.
