is inspiring and incredible. I am grateful to be a
part of the SNPhAm.
I would like to take a moment to thank our
entire squad for the last four years. Pharmacy
school would not have been the same without you.
I am forever grateful for our friendships. The epic
study sessions, snacks, health fairs, evaluations,
weddings, Dr. Bi's, celebrations, conferences, and
heart-wrenching losses: All of these were overcome with us standing side-by-side. Thank you for
being my pharmily. You are always in my heart.

JENNIFER KOBYLARCZYK:
BETTER LIVING THROUGH CHEMISTRY
BY SANDY GRAHAM

"We are a CU Pharmacy
family and proud
to represent the
incredible program
that is CU SSPPS. We
are excited to be a part
of the development
and expansion of all
CU Pharmacy has to
offer. Through our
commitment to the
program and the school,
we grew individually
and as a family."
- Chanine Defensor

I am excited for the next chapter in everyone's
journey. Also, TATA Box 4 life!
I am looking forward to my next adventure as
a PGY-1 Resident at the Salem Veterans Affairs
Medical Center in Virginia. This will be another
grand chapter for the Defensor family. I am truly
grateful for the support and encouragement
from my family, friends who became family,
and esteemed mentors and colleagues at CU
Pharmacy. My sincerest thanks to you all.

T

he personal
chemistry
aligned
perfectly when
Parker Sperry
and Jennifer Kobylarczyk
became each other's lab
partners in an Arapahoe
Community College
chemistry class.
Kobylarczyk, now 30
and about to receive
her PharmD degree
from the Skaggs School
of Pharmacy and
Pharmaceutical Sciences,
was completing her
prerequisites to enter CU

Pharmacy when the two
were paired. She married
Sperry June 18, 2016, at
the end of her P1 year.
The wedding ceremony
and reception reflected
that fateful class. During
a "bonding ceremony,"
the couple mixed bubbly
baking soda and vinegar.
Entering the reception,
the bridal party wore multicolored safety goggles.
Guests sipped tomato
soup from 50-millileter
beakers. Erlenmeyer flasks
held flowers. The seating
chart followed the periodic

table with each table designated as an element - the
wedding party's table was
"Noble Gases." And they set
off smoke bombs for the
photo shoot!
Throughout her four
years of classes, Kobylarczyk
has had the love and support
of her forever-lab partner.
"If I could, I'd have him
hood me at my ceremony,"
she says. "He's really the
reason I made it all the way
through, both emotionally
and practically speaking.
He's my best friend and the
best soul I ever met."
