UINTA-WASATCH-CACHE National Forest
This forest encompasses Utah’s Wasatch Mountains, adjacent to the state’s major metropolitan area, known as the “Wasatch Front.” Containing nearly 2.1 million acres of the most geological and ecologically-diverse landscapes the nation. Ski and summer resorts located in this forest provide world-renowned downhill skiing and snowmobiling, as well as a variety of summer activities. From Logan to Nephi, the forest features trailheads that provide access to spectacular hiking, backpacking, and horseback riding. ASHLEY National Forest
Elevations in the Ashley National Forest range from 6,000 feet to over 13,500 feet. It features the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area, famous for trophy trout fishing and its 91-mile reservoir created by Flaming Gorge Dam. Comfortable accommodations, 23 campgrounds, and guide services make this area a vacation paradise. The Ashley National Forest also provides outstanding backpacking to alpine lakes in the pristine High Uinta Wilderness, Moon Lake, and Sheep Creek Canyon.
