4 Guys Getaway
GOLF MECCA
Nine golf courses to choose from,
300 days of sunshine, and moderate
temperatures make Aurora a golfer's
paradise. Heritage Eagle Bend, Meadow
Hills, Murphy Creek, Saddle Rock, and
Springhill are five of the options for
hitting the links with the guys.

SPORTS GALORE
For those who love to watch sports,
head to Mountain Pass Sports Bar at
Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention
Center with huge TVs (we mean really
big) so you don't miss a play. If you
want to see pro sports in action, go to
a Colorado Rapids men's soccer game
at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in nearby
Commerce City or Colorado Rockies and
Denver Broncos baseball and football
games in downtown Denver.

CRAFT BREWS & DISC GOLF
The reason we put these two together
is because Aurora has a lot of both! To
find both in one place, go to Dry Dock
Brewing Company's North Dock, where
award-winning beer is canned and
savored in the tasting room and disc golf
is played on an 18-hole course. Check
out our list of 14 other outstanding
Aurora craft breweries on page 10. Or
learn to make beer and wine and buy the
supplies at The Brew Hut, adjacent to Dry
Dock Brewing South Dock. For additional
disc golf options, check out the courses
at Centre Hills Park and Expo Park. Make
sure to bring your own equipment!

Get Outside!
Best Trails for

Hiking & Biking
Aurora is home to dozens of miles of trails. Lace up your shoes and pump up your tires, there is a lot
of adventuring to do! Make sure to bring water and wear sunscreen. It's sunny here, and the elevation
may be higher than you are used to. Go forth and explore.

SAND CREEK REGIONAL GREENWAY
Just outside Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, this nearly 14-mile trail starts in
Commerce City, continues through Denver, and ends in Aurora, where it traverses through the
200-acre Star K Ranch. Sand Creek Greenway trail is a mixture of paved and soft/compacted gravel
surfaces. Enjoy open spaces, waving prairie grass, and small marshes along the way. If you're up for
more of a challenge, the connecting South Platte River Trail links the upper and lower metro areas
and covers more than 28 miles.

CHERRY CREEK RESERVOIR LOOP TRAIL
Located in the heart of Cherry Creek State Park, the Reservoir Loop Trail is a moderately popular
route for bikers, walkers, and hikers. The 8.8-mile loop is perfect for beginners and casual bikers and
for checking out native species like hawks and bald eagles and watching water fun on the 880-acre
reservoir below. Expect mountain views in the background as your bike carries you along the trail.
Entering the park with a vehicle requires a small admission fee that's good for all-day use.

SMOKY HILL TRAIL & PARKER ROAD TRAIL LOOP
Also located within Cherry Creek State Park, Smoky Hill Trail and Parker Road Trail Loop are favorites
of visitors and locals alike. The 4.7 miles offer scenic views for bikers, walkers, and bird-watchers.
Expect pull-off stops with Rocky Mountain and water backdrops. A day-use admission fee is required
when entering the park with a vehicle.

SIP & SAVOR

AURORA RESERVOIR TRAIL

We have already covered the beer scene,
but what about burgers, bourbon, and
beer? Bookmakers Bar & Grill has an
impressive wall of whiskey and a menu of
eight whiskey flights, 14 burgers, whiskeybattered onion rings, and much more. To
satisfy a bunch of tastes, go to Stanley
Marketplace, Southlands, or On
Havana Street for an impressive
selection of places to enjoy
a meal or grab a drink.

Cruise alongside this crystal-clear reservoir on a paved 8-mile trail. Aurora Reservoir Trail is easily
accessible for people of all ages and offers an alternative to the city's other two reservoirs. If you're
looking to rent bikes, Pedego Electric Bikes Southlands is a great option, and the store is only one
mile from the reservoir. Catch pretty sunsets, bring the kids, and enjoy a picnic afterward under the
pavilions. A small admission fee that's good for all-day use is required when entering the park with a
vehicle.

TOLL GATE CREEK TRAIL
A local's secret, Toll Gate Creek Trail is great for experiencing a different side of Aurora. This 6.3-mile
trail is paved and used by bikers, dog walkers, and hikers. Starting at the edge of Quincy Reservoir,
the path takes riders north toward DeLaney Farms Historic District. Riders can expect wooded
terrain, wildlife viewing, and casual biking. You also can begin at the 160-acre DeLaney Farms, one of
Aurora's first agricultural sites, to see restored farm buildings and ride south to Quincy Reservoir.
