WELCOME CENTERS
Southern hospitality and friendly smiles
greet visitors as they enter the centers.
Professional and knowledgeable counselors are trained to give directions and
assist with personalizing trip itineraries
by suggesting dining and lodging options. They can even make hotel reservations for you. You'll find the most
current information on road conditions
and our staff can suggest alternate routes
to get you safely back on your way. Ask
about unique attractions and places to
experience while staying in Virginia to
make your visit a most memorable and
pleasant one. Maps and brochures are
on hand and when available, coupons
and discounts to attractions around the

state are offered. The pristine facilities
are open 24/7*, with counselors available daily between 8:30 am-5:00 pm
with exceptions being Thanksgiving Day,
Christmas Day and New Year's Day
when they are closed. (*The Bell Tower
is open Monday-Friday only.)
Besides a friendly face and a source of
information, a stop at a VWC can be a
refreshing and entertaining surprise. Live
performances and demonstrations from
local artisans are often scheduled at the
centers. Product samples and giveaways
let you experience Virginia from a
different perspective, while fun displays
about the region and interactive exhibits

VWC's are clean and Virginia Green
certified, which is the state's program
to encourage green practices through
recycling, waste reduction and energy and
water conservation. Buses and tour groups
can be accommodated and the grounds
are pet-friendly for your four-legged friends
to run off energy. So the next time you're
traveling to or through Virginia, make a
stop at one of the welcome centers. You
won't be disappointed.
