NEW PRODUCTS & SERVICES ANTENNAS Similis Ultra-Low Profile Antenna for 3G, LTE and MIMO Antenova Ltd, manufacturer of antennas and RF antenna modules for M2M and the Internet of Things, has released a new SMD antenna called Similis, which offers an exceptionally low profile solution for 3G, LTE and MIMO applications. The Similis antenna measures 40 by 10 by 1.6 mm, making it half the height of the popular Lucida, which Antenova introduced last year. Antenova has designed the Similis antenna for low profile M2M and IoT applications where space is tight and its size will be a real advantage - in particular, it offers a lower profile than leading wireless cellular modules which are usually more than 2 mm in height. This new antenna is suitable for Femto/base stations, portable devices, remote monitoring, smart meters, network devices and wearable electronics. Like all of Antenova's antennas, Similis is designed to be integrated within a device, so the considerations of its placement on the PCB and the antenna's performance within the device have all been addressed at the design stage, making this new antenna easy to integrate into a design. Pulse Electronics Releases Translucent Antennas Pulse Electronics Corp. has released a line of translucent antennas. Pulse's distributed antenna system (DAS) ultra-thin, clear, ceiling mount antennas have been selected to enable wireless network coverage in Building #7 of the World Trade Center, New York, NY. The Pulse antenna lines include the PIMinator series of -155 dBc certified low Passive InterModulation (PIM) Distributed Antenna System (DAS) ceiling mount antennas. The Pulse/Larsen line of DAS in-building low PIM omni antennas meets the most demanding PIM requirements for 2G, 3G and LTE/4G bands. The Clarity family of antennas operates at UHF band frequencies, including 380-520 MHz and 698-960 MHz, to improve public safety radio coverage. The Clarity-Pearl antennas deliver an architecturally pleasing solution to requirements set by the International Fire Code and National Fire Protection Association (IFC/NFPA) codes for public safety in-building communication. Their ultra-thin white UV stabilized plastic radome is 311 mm in diameter and protrudes 9.5 mm below the ceiling for the lowest in-building antenna profile in the industry. The Monarch series multi-mode global navigation satellite system ceramic antennas provide wireless signal reception for the four major global and regional satellite systems: GPS, GLONASS, Beidou (Compass) and Galileo. These compact, low profile antennas deliver high efficiency (75 percent typical) over a wide bandwidth for enhanced navigation and device tracking. The Panther series GPS/multiband vehicle-mount antennas give superior port-to-port isolation for excellent signal clarity that improves data throughput and navigation for telematics, infotainment, and locationbased applications in all types of fleet, public safety, delivery, utility and transit vehicles. Several other new families of antennas will be on display. Pulse has custom and catalog antennas for both indoor and outdoor use with all types of mounting options. Pulse has extensive manufacturing technologies (FPC, stamping, LDS, cable assemblies, Fluidant, ultrasonic welding, acoustic modules) and extensive 24-hour prototyping capabilities with manufacturing in both the USA and China, R&D facilities in the US, Europe, and Asia, and a worldwide support network. 12 Antenna Systems & Technology Spring 2016 www.AntennasOnline.com http://www.AntennasOnline.com
