Bondwell BVH9 CMC binder is compatible with many commercial styrene butadiene (SB) latexes and has good dispersion
power for both natural graphite and conductive carbon black
particles. It also adheres well to copper collectors.
Ceramic-coated separators are increasingly used to improve
lithium ion battery safety by reducing separator shrinkage at
high temperatures and by increasing mechanical strength and
compression resistance. Ceramic-coated separators may also
improve battery performance.
Flow-Rite Launches Free Battery Management
Software, Battery Steward
Battery Steward is a cloud-based solution that organizes an
operation's battery care schedule, sends alerts when tasks are
due, records maintenance and asset data, and allows the data to
be analyzed over time. The app is currently available to download for free on the App Store and Google Play.

forklift batteries last longer when they are properly maintained,"
said Ron Earl, marketing director for Flow-Rite. "With Battery
Steward, it's simpler now than ever before to maintain your
batteries. Not only does this product improve communications
between equipment and staff, but it also illustrates the health of
an essential, yet often overlooked, asset."
Battery Steward utilizes a mobile device and identifying labels
to create easy-to-follow battery care task lists. Tasks are checked
off by scanning the identifying label that has been placed on a battery. Battery Steward highlights and elevates batteries with overdue maintenance tasks, minimizing the chance of missing a task.
Battery maintenance data is analyzed through the online portal to
help identify neglected, misused or abused batteries.
A set of identifying labels will come free with Flow-Rite's
Millennium single-point battery watering kits through participating Flow-Rite dealers. Labels will be sold to customers who are
outfitting existing fleets with Battery Steward.
Ashland Launches Binders for Lithium-Ion Batteries
Ashland Specialty Ingredients, a commercial unit of
Ashland, Inc. has launched Bondwell BVH9 carboxy methyl
cellulose (CMC) binder for the anode, and its PVP K-series
polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) polymers as binders for ceramiccoated separators.
"Ashland produces Bondwell BVH9 CMC binder in our
Jiangmen, China facility and provides lithium ion cell producers in the Asia Pacific region with a cost-effective binder that
features optimized physical and electrochemical properties,"
said Kenji Hanada, Tokyo-based senior marketing specialist,
Industrial Specialties, Ashland Specialty Ingredients.
Bondwell BVH9 CMC binder is an aqueous binder for natural graphite anodes. Coin cells prepared with Bondwell BVH9
CMC binder have demonstrated significantly low impedance,

The call for automatic insertion of the popular 2032 and
2025 lithium coin cells has been met by Keystone Electronics
Corp. The Auto-In 20 mm coin cell holder is rugged and well
suited for retaining cells securely under shock and vibration in
high-density applications for PCB requirements.
In applications where the battery must be automatically
inserted via a vacuum or mechanical pick-and-place device,
the new Auto-In coin cell battery holder Part #1058 (bulk) or
#1058TR (on tape and reel for use with most vacuum and mechanical pick-and-place assemblies) is ideal. It provides design
versatility for surface mount applications using the 2032 or 2025
coin cell batteries. Each holder is polarized and features dualspring, gold-plated phosphor bronze contacts in a glass filled
LCP UL 94V-0 base. Holders are supplied in bulk or on tape and
reel through our global distribution network.
