Delta-Q Technologies Introduce IC Series Battery Chargers
Delta-Q Technologies has released its IC900 and IC1200 industrial battery chargers, which combine with
the existing IC650 charger to form the IC series charging platform for use with electric and hybrid scissor lifts, boom lifts and other aerial work platforms.
IC series chargers are designed for high reliability to withstand the difficult operating conditions faced by
rental equipment. Their IP66-rated ingress protection seals out dirt and fluids, while mechanical design
and component selection help resist factors such as vibration, shock and temperature extremes. Users
benefit from precise charging of lead acid (wet/flooded, sealed AGM or gel) or lithium-ion batteries. The
three models in the IC series lineup provide 650, 900 and 1200 watts of DC output power, respectively,
and all are available in 24-, 36- and 48-volt models.
EquaLink Battery Management System
EquaLink, from Storage Battery Systems, offers a new diagnostic and monitoring
features that are essential in maintaining critical operating parameters required
by NERC and IEEE as part of a comprehensive battery maintenance program.
Using a series of integrated modules and web-based technology, EquaLink accurately monitors three key parameters: temperature, internal resistance and
voltage of every individual battery in the system. Through its patented voltage
balancing process, the EquaLink system calibrates the charging voltage of all
batteries with the charger's target value, keeping all batteries within the optimal
voltage operating range.
The EquaLink system uses a method of impedance measurement called synchronous detection. It sends out an impedance waveform analysis where the waveform is dependent on the UPS technology and begins to take impedance snapshots. The system then takes the entire impedance measurements, including
Resistance and Reactance, and pulls out the pure resistive value of the battery.
This will isolate any frequency-related AC signals. What we see with this type of
impedance measurement is with the DC link open or closed the margin of error
between measurements is very low and repeatable so there are no false positives.
Lincad's Caravel Mk2 Charger can Discharge Li-Ion Batteries to Meet New IATA Regulations
Lincad, a provider in the design and manufacture of bespoke batteries, chargers and power management
systems, offers a solution to any organization needing to transport lithium-ion batteries under the new
regulations introduced by IATA.
From April 1st 2016, certain lithium-ion batteries (UN3480, PI 965)
are prohibited as cargo on passenger aircraft and must therefore only
be shipped on cargo aircraft. Furthermore, these batteries must be
shipped at a state of charge of no more than 30 percent of their rated
capacity. Lincad's Caravel Mk2 Charger, a product offering multichemistry charging of batteries from any OEM, has in-built functionality that enables it to discharge lithium-ion batteries to meet this 30
percent state of charge transportation limit. It also offers functionality
to allow discharge of batteries to a state of charge level most suitable
for long-term battery storage.
The use of power management technology will allow Humavox to
provide high efficiency charging combined with improved power regulation. The ETERNA hardware platform supplies hearing aids, wireless earbuds, and hearables with design flexibility, whereby the technology can be implemented in any kind of device and is able to support multiple battery types.
