Hardware New E-Line Locking Systems Reduce Security Costs and Enhance Locking Solutions Dirak has enhanced its line of mechatronic security systems for racks, enclosures and cabinets with the expansion of its E-Line. With E-Line a user can control who has access to individual racks and enclosures, can monitor when individuals are allowed access and be able to audit access when necessary. The E-Line system includes Mechatronic Locks for Racks (MLR) that features a completely new design that combines ergonomics, aesthetics and function designed specifically to address security of data and server racks. Integrated LEDs on the handle display alarm and authorization status of the unit. The top LED indicates locking status and the bottom LED indicates temperature deviations. Handles can be managed through the E-Line Administration Suite, can be integrated into customer’s management system, or can be operated in stand-alone mode. MLR locks are available in three models. The MLR1000 is designed for integration into existing systems. The MLR 300 for use with the Adminstration Suite software, or in a stand-alone mode for when cabinets are close to one another. Lastly, the MLR500, which can be used in various rack configurations for when racks are separated and not in adjacent rows. Another part of the new E-Line are the Mechatronic Locks for Enclosures (MLE). The MLE products primarily address security of enclosures that are located in indoor or outdoor public areas and are designed to withstand unauthorized access by vandals. The MLE meets WKII security standards to withstand vandalism and burglary. Also meets RC security standards, a new European safety standard based on WKII. They are available in two models: single or dual lock cylinder. The last addition to E-Line offering is the MLU, which is well suited for applications that require security in addition to mechanical handles. The MLU lock is mounted inside the cabinet, providing a completely concealed security solution. The MLU addresses security of cabinets that contain sensitive material, as well as other applications where the existing latch is not being replaced. The thread locking performance of Type PL and PLC fasteners is equivalent to applicable NASM25027 specifications. A strong, knurled collar receives the installation force and resists torque, exhibiting spin resistance greatly exceeding the torque that can be exerted by the self-locking feature. Both the self-clinching shank and undercut contribute to high pushout values. They can install in aluminum or steel sheets as thin as 0.040 inches to 0.070 inches /1 mm to 1.78 mm and are offered in thread sizes from #4-40 through #10-32 and M3 through M5. Type CFN broaching fasteners suit thinner sheet, close-toedge applications. Upon installation, their broaching knurl creates a firm, interference-type fit resistant to rotation. The fasteners can be installed in sheets as thin as 0.040 inches /1 mm and are available in thread sizes #4-30 and M3. The Southco EA-R02 RF remote control system enables wireless actuation of Southco locks in a basic package. The EA-R02 RF uses radio frequency technology for handsfree locking and unlocking. The unit includes a receiver, two key-fob style transmitters and interconnecting wire harnesses. The wireless EA-R02 RF provides enhanced security and convenience with easy set-up and installation, ensuring an effortless transition from mechanical to electronic access. The receiver arrives pre-programmed to work with the transmitters provided and supports up to four compatible transmitters from a distance of approximately 20 meters. RF Remote Control System Provides Security With Wireless Actuation of Locks PEM nylon insert self-locking fasteners provide a reusable, nonmetallic prevailing torque thread lock to prevent threaded mating hardware from loosening in service due to vibration or other application-related forces. The blue nylon hexagonal locking element (black for metric types) ultimately eliminates potential galling, any need for lubricant or the use of chemical locking methods or patches. Types include PL (steel) and PLC PEMHEX (stainless steel) self-clinching fasteners and Type CFN steel broaching fasteners. All install permanently in thin metal sheets and their reliable threads accommodate mating hardware during final attachment of components. 28 PEM Self-Locking Fasteners Feature Nylon Insert To Prevent Loosening Pixus Technologies has introduced a power backplane with dual 47-pin connectors per PICMG 2.11 power interface specification in the 6U form factor. The power interface board has sense and current share signals to better regulate and distribute power. The power interface board physical size comes in 6.5U or 6U height by 16 HP wide, with two CompactPCI hot-pluggable slots using standard 47-pin connectors. The boards are designed for either AC or DC power to be supplied, including accommodations for rear power entry modules for 48 V requirements. Wire harnesses are also available, providing +3.3 V, +5 V, +/-12 V, GND and control signals between the backplanes. The sense lines help the power board efficiently regulate the power at the load end. The current share lines allow multiple power supplies to share current across the power backplane slots.
