Power New Encapsulated PCB Mount AC/DC Linear Power Supply Calex Mfg. Co., Inc. has release the Model 22-100 linear power supply. The 22-100 provides a tightly regulated ±15 Volt output providing ±100 mA of output current. The output noise for the 22-100 is low, 2 mV RMS, making the unit well suited for powering sensitive analog circuitry. The compact 2 by 3 by 1 inch unit is encapsulated with epoxy making it useful in a variety of environments. The output voltage accuracy for the 22-100 is ±0.5 percent. Line and load regulation is ±0.04 percent maximum. The input voltage options are 100, 115, 220, 230 and 240 VAC. The AC input frequency range is 50 to 60 Hz. The unit is isolated input to output with an isolation voltage of 1,000 V RMS. The isolation resistance is 50 megohms. The case operating temperature range for the 22-100 is -25°C to 50°C. The temperature coefficient is ±0.01 percent/°C. Varistor-Based Lightning Arresters for Lightning Protection Levels III and IV The new VAL-MS-T1/T2 lightning arresters from Phoenix Contact offer a high levels of surge protection. The arresters are rated for Type 1 lightning strike events with a measured 10/350 µs test current (Iimp) of 12.5 kA or Type 2 surge events with a measured 8/20 µs maximum discharge surge current (Imax) of 50 kA. The varistors-based VALVETRAB T1/T2 provides maximum surge protection in an easyto-use DIN rail-mount base. All arrester plugs, including the N-PE spark gap, are pluggable and have a thermal disconnect device triggering the visual and the integrated remote monitoring contacts allowing continuous monitoring of the varistor’s health. The lightning arresters can be used in DC applications such as FTTA/telecom, Wi-Fi networks, photovoltaic industries or AC single and multi-phase networks. A new locking mechanism reliably keeps the connector in the base element, even when subjected to high lightning currents or vibration. The locking mechanism can be released with single-handed operation to perform isolation measurements or other checks. On-line, Double-Conversion UPS from Emerson Network Power Earns Energy Star Qualification Emerson Network Power has announced that 11 models of its Liebert GXT3 UPS line have earned Energy Star Version 1.0 qualification. The Liebert GXT3 is ENERGY STAR qualified for the following rack/tower convertible models: 120 V input 700, 1,000, 1,500, 2,000 and 3,000 VA models, 208 V input 3,000, 6,000 VA models, and 120/208 V input 5,000, 6,000, 8,000 and 100,00 VA models. The Liebert GXT3 enables IT managers to pack higher capacities into smaller spaces while ensuring optimized efficiency. The system provides continuous uptime for the connected equipment, 24 with capacity and battery backup delivered in compact cabinets that use 2U to 6U of rack space. To qualify for the award the GXT3 was subjected to testing by a UPS-specific certification body, and was examined based on average power, efficiency and efficiency variation for determination of steady-state. UPS products meeting the requirements of the US EPA program use an average of 35 percent less energy than their standard counterparts. Minmax Power MDWI03 Series 3 Watt, 4:1 Input DC/DC Converters Minmax has introduced the MDWI03 series of 3 Watt DC/DC converters in a DIP package with 1,500 VDC I/O isolation. Input filtering complies to EN55022 Class A and FCC Level A, eliminating the need for external filtering. The MDWI03 series is suited for a wvariety of applications including communication equipment, mixed analog/digital sub-systems, distributed power systems, robotics and other consumer and industrial purposes. The MDWI03 series has an ultra-wide 4:1 input ranges of 9 to 36 VDC or 18 to 75 VDC. Remote on/off control is standard and the closely regulated outputs are available in single 3.3 VDC to 24 VDC or dual ± 5 VDC to ± 15 VDC configurations. Efficiency is rated up to 80 percent for this converter. Power Sources Unlimited Makes Additions to its DC Power Portfolio Power Sources Unlimited, Inc. has added the 48 V Flatpack S DC power system by Eltek to its power product portfolio. The Flatpack S is compact in size, efficient, configurable and offers reliability for the demanding telecom industry. The 48 V Flatpack S provides 95.5 percent power conversion efficiency and is housed in a 1U standard-width telecom power shelf that is 10.3 inch (262 mm) deep and 1.6 inches (41.5 mm) high. The power system is managed by the Smartpack S controller, which monitors all active components and batteries. The Smartpack S also features a wide-ranging list of battery health and monitoring algorithms to prolong the life of battery backup systems and ensure backup power when it is needed. The 1U 48 VDC power system is available in 40 Amp and 100 Amp versions and can be configured for a variety of output power levels to meet individual application requirements. The system can be flush-mounted or mid-mounted, offers two plug-in battery breaker positions, low voltage battery disconnect (LBVD) and numerous load options. Additionally, there is a pull-out drawer for easy access to the connection points and cable strain relief.
