SCADA - Products & Services Onset has released the HOBOlink Web services API, an application programming interface that enables organizations to integrate energy and environmental data from Onset HOBOlink Web servers with custom software applications. The HOBOlink Web services API will be utilized by a range of users, from building energy dashboard suppliers to developers looking to embed real-time weather data from Onset HOBO U30 monitoring systems into web-based portals. The HOBOlink Web services API supports the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) and Representational State Transfer (REST) architecture. Data can be fetched through the web services either in CSV format or SensorML (Sensor Model Language) format, depending upon the type of web service chosen by the user. Onset HOBO U30 remote monitoring systems can measure and record up to 15 channels of energy and environmental data. The systems feature a NEMA 6-rated enclosure designed for harsh environments, and can transmit data via GSM-cellular, Wi-Fi and Ethernet communications. Sensors are available for a range of measurements including kilowatt hours, voltage, current, air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and direction. Sensorex has released its S8000 pH/ORP Platform, FCL400 series free chlorine sensor and CLD400 series chlorine dioxide sensor. The S8000 pH/ORP platform combines a flat surface selfcleaning pH/ORP (REDOX) sensor with modular mounting hardware and optional electronics to deliver measurement while reducing costs for water/wastewater treatment applications. Fully configurable, it allows users to initially purchase only needed components and expand measurement capability over time to meet changing plant requirements. The same Sensorex S8000 pH/ORP electrode can be used in either tank submersion or in-line mounting applications to measure pH, HF resistant pH, ORP (REDOX) or low ionic pH, while rugged Ryton (PPS) parts and Viton seals in a chemically resistant body ensure consistently accurate measurements in harsh environments. The flat surface self-cleaning technology means less maintenance throughout the life of the product, especially in turbulent flow. The S8000 sensor electrode measures a pH range from 0 to 14 (0 to 12.3 pH with low Na+ ion error) at a pressure range of 0 to 100 psig de-rated under temperature. It operates over a temperature range of 0°C to 100°C de-rated under pressure or 0°C to 80°C when mounted in flow cell or 0°C to 70°C with an electronic module. The FCL series free chlorine sensor from Sensorex features a precise amperometric sensor that measures free chlorine in real time and is available in three different measurement ranges: 0 to 2 ppm, 0 to 5 ppm and 0 to 10 ppm. The sensor’s long-life design reduces maintenance cycles, which lowers lifecycle costs with less frequent sensor membrane cap/solution replacement and reduced technician installation time. The FCL sensor features a 4 to 20 mA direct output. It operates in a range of 5.5 to 8.0 pH, and a temperature range of 0°C to 45°C and at a maximum pressure of 14.7 psig (1 Bar). The 4 to 20mA output signal produced by the FCL series is compatible with both PLCs and DCS to support a wide range of applications from small stand-alone, single-point measurement stations to large plant wide network systems. Onset Introduced Web Services API Application Afcon Software and Electronics Ltd. has released its Pulse V1.50 SCADA/HMI software with a new add-on called Event Manager, a control room management software integrated in the SCADA/HMI system. The Event Manager add-on module helps control room operators respond efficiently to events by providing access to critical information, beneficial step-by-step procedures and real-time availability of human resources. Pulse is the most recent evolution of Afcon’s P-CIM solutions for SCADA/HMI. The latest version, Pulse V1.50 is packed with to features to enhance operator productivity and situational awareness. It offers important security features and streamlines the process of configuring the system. In addition, a variety of new templates were added to facilitate the development of new screens, exposing system designers to readily available functionalities. Key benefits of this module are reducing the risk for human errors and ensuring that policies and procedures are followed uniformly. Using the Event Manager in organizations/facilities improve regulatory compliance and increase response efficiency. Furthermore, it also reduces the need for comprehensive training. Users can now also meet their growing security requirements through Nice DVR Client interface added in this release. This integration allows operators to both view live video and playback along with controlling PTZ camera movement directly from the video show or through direction buttons. AFCON Software and Electronics Released Pulse V1.50 With New Event Manager Add-On Sensorex to Feature Economical S8000 pH/ORP System McCrometer’s new RemoteConnect RC45 telemetry system is a wireless data collection system designed to provide information via the Internet from installed flow meters, pumps and other agricultural water management sensors operating remotely in the field. The RemoteConnect RC45 telemetry system is an entry-level telemetry solution with full functionality. Farmers and water districts requiring four data inputs or fewer, will find the RC45 does the job without breaking their budget. It’s easy to install, user-friendly and reliably provides data when users need it at their personal computers or on a wireless mobile device. The RC45 telemetry system is an irrigation management tool that can quickly pay for itself. It improves irrigation efficiency by delivering up-todate water, soil and crop data. With 24/7 monitoring capability, the system features a Web-based graphical user interface that notifies operators of any changes in the irrigation system or other sensors via the Internet, email, mobile phones, texting and pagers. The RC45 Telemetry System features two digital inputs, two analog inputs and one analog output. The digital inputs are configured as pulse counters for totalized volumetric measurement or flow rate (i.e., acre feet, gallons per minute) and for rain tipping bucket recording. The two analog inputs and one analog output are configurable for 0 to 5 V, 0 to 1 mA or 4 to 20 mA. Designed for reliable operation in rugged outdoor environments, the RC45 system includes a choice of either a 300 mA solar or 110 VAC power supply. Both power supplies include battery backup with five-year rechargeable battery life. Electronics are housed in a heavy duty NEMA 4 rated polycarbonate enclosure with hinged door and locking clasp for security. 16 www.RemoteMagazine.com New RC45 Irrigation Telemetry System Saves Time, Fuel, Labor and Money http://www.RemoteMagazine.com
