Onsite Power - Products & Services SFC Energy Launches EFOY Pro Energy Solutions for Industrial Applications SFC Energy AG has launched the fully integrated EFOY Pro Energy Solutions series for professional industrial applications. The series consists of complete power supply systems specifically designed for outdoor application scenarios such as in the oil & gas and wind industries, in traffic management, the security and surveillance industry, and for the off-grid operation of sensing and measuring, communication and radio equipment. EFOY ProEnergyBox is specified for temperatures from 50°C to -40°C. It is available in two standard sizes to hold either one or two EFOY Pro fuel cell generators and up to four, 28 liter EFOY fuel cartridges. Both models come in ruggedized, insulated and weatherproofed PeliCases and feature enough space to integrate battery and individual application specific equipment. The major advantage of all EFOY Pro Energy Solutions is the extended autonomy of off-grid equipment powered by them. They all contain SFC Energy’s EFOY Pro fuel cell generator, EFOY fuel cartridges, battery and power management. They can be hybridized with solar modules or other alternative power sources like wind or water generators. Power is generated fully automatically, silently and environmentally friendly. The fuel cell generator is maintenance free and ensures 100 percent 24/7 power availability in any season and weather, thus eliminating downtime and logistic costs. a variety of strict standards, including providing 90 minutes of backup time to support emergency lighting, and ensuring the manually operated interface is protected from accidental operation. The TAA meets requirements for most US federal government procurements and contracts and is a requirement for any organizations receiving federal dollars. The Liebert APM is available in two configurations. The 90 kW frame uses matching external battery cabinets for battery runtime, and allows for 90 kW of capacity, or 75 kW of capacity plus 15 kW of redundancy. The 45 kW frame allows for 45 kW of capacity, or 30 kW of capacity plus 15 kW of redundancy, and includes internal batteries with optional external battery cabinet for additional runtime. In both models, the external battery cabinet can be outfitted with an Alber BDSi monitoring system to constantly monitor each battery, ensuring reliability and allowing for proactive management. The UPS operates at up to 94 percent efficiency, with a virtually flat efficiency curve from 50 to 100 percent load, resulting in energy cost savings. It can be installed in raised or non-raised floor applications, and is well suited for small to medium-sized data centers, server rooms, production areas, testing facilities, telecommunications and process controls centers. Phoenix Contact Adds Wide-Temperature Range VRLA Batteries Phoenix Contact has added a battery to the Quint UPS-IQ line. The valve regulated lead-acid (VRLA) battery can operate under extreme temperature shifts ranging anywhere from -40°C to 60°C, as compared to the 0°C to 40°C range of the original VRLA battery. This feature allows the battery to operate effectively in much harsher climates, without the concerns of frequent replacement and maintenance. This device performs up to five times faster than the standard VRLA battery, with a five-hour buffer time in even the most taxing conditions. With pure lead absorbed glass mat (AGM) technology, the battery also safeguards itself against acid spills in the extreme environments to which it is subject. The battery has an operational life of more than ten years, depending on conditions. When used in conjunction with the family of Quint UPS-IQ products, this VRLA battery allows users to monitor other performance activities, such as the state of charge (SOC), state of health (SOH) and state of function (SOF). Each state reports on different aspects of the battery, giving the user insight and foreknowledge of repair or replacement needs, before such needs even arise. Emerson Network Power Debuts New Input Configurations and Certifications for Liebert APM UPS Emerson Network Power has introduced 480 volt and 600 volt input configurations for its Liebert APM row-based, modular UPS system. In addition, all models of the Liebert APM are compliant with the Federal Trade Agreement Act (TAA), and UL 924 certified models are available to support emergency lighting requirements. The Liebert APM is a transformer-free, on-line UPS that allows quick power capacity increases with the addition of internal FlexPower modular assemblies. The FlexPower modules allow the system to add capacity or redundancy in 15 kW increments up to 45 kW or 90 kW within a single cabinet without powering down connected equipment. The new input voltage capabilities are available on both 45 kW and 90 kW UPS configurations. Certain models of the Liebert APM are compliant with UL 924, meeting 26 www.RemoteMagazine.com Eltek Launches DC Power System for Next Generation Remote Wired and Wireless Telecom Applications Eltek has released the Flatpack S, a high-efficiency (HE) DC power system that combines the ability to support 100 A in a compact one rack unit (1RU) form factor and enables telecom carriers to broaden the reach of communication networks. The rapid growth in demand for wireless telecom services and expanded wired services, such as cloud, VoIP and IPTV services that have increased the demand for highly available power systems in remote locations. Due to its small size, high-efficiency, modular design, reliability and wide-range of system control and communication capabilities, the Eltek Flatpack S system fulfills these requirements. Flatpack S system modules are hot pluggable and only 8.27 inches (210 mm) long so that they fit into 12-inch cabinet applications, giving it the flexibility to meet higher power demands in tight spaces. The complete Flatpack S system provides greater than 95 percent efficiency and includes controller, rectifiers, battery and load distribution. Upgrading to the latest generation of high-efficiency, compact 1RU power equipment not only saves energy and space, it is essential for rolling out new revenue-generating services. GE Introduces New TLE Series UPS Global Platform GE has introduced its TLE series uninterruptible power supply (UPS) global platform. The TLE series transformer-less, three-phase UPS applies GE’s technology to provide facilities with operating efficiencies of up to 97 percent efficiency in double-conversion mode and up to 99 percent in eBoost, also known as multi-mode, operation. By operating at such high efficiencies, the TLE platform helps lower system operating expenses and power usage effectiveness (PUE). GE’s TLE series provides mission-critical facilities with a broad range of double-conversion output power ranging from up to 1.5 megawatts (MW) in a single module. To meet customers’ reliability, efficiency and power demands worldwide, the TLE series is offered in both UL and CE versions. The CE version spans up to 1.2 MW, while the UL version ranges http://www.RemoteMagazine.com
