Low-Cost Network Video Recorder Features Support for
Megapixel IP Cameras and HDMI Output
Toshiba Surveillance and IP Video Products
Group has released the ESV4, a four-channel
embedded network video recorder (NVR) that
combines high-definition output. The Toshiba
ESV4 is loaded with features and technologies
such as HDMI output in 1080p high-definition
video, simultaneous recording of four megapixel IP cameras, mobile app support (iPhone,
iPad, Android) and free Video Management
Software. It is compatible with Toshiba IP cameras and more than 500 other OnVIF compliant
IP cameras up to five megapixels.
The ESV4 interface is simple to operate, whether on a local recorder, in a browser or remotely viewed from a
mobile device. For additional convenience, it comes with on-board CMS
Basic Video Management Software that uses standard network protocols
to automatically find and configure cameras, assign IP addresses, display
connection status and manage multiple cameras with live monitoring with
full search capabilities. This combination of both design and technology
has streamlined the IP migration process and eliminated the confusion often
associated with recording video on the network.
Embedded with the Linux operating system and supporting H.264 live
monitoring and recording, the ESV4 offers added reliability. It is also
adaptive to evolving security needs with expandable video storage up to
6-Terabytes on its two internal high-speed SATA HDDs. Live video from
IP cameras operating in multiple locations can be remotely managed and
recorded on an ESV4 stored off-site to prevent tampering.
SightLogix SightTracker Automatically Steers Videotec
PTZ Cameras
SightLogix, Inc. has
integrated the SightTracker
pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera
controller with Videotec’s
ULISSE line of positioning
devices. The integration gives
users an accurate video security
solution for detection, tracking
and assessment over outdoor areas.
The SightTracker solves the challenge of an operator trying to manually locate a target outdoors using a PTZ camera. SightTracker auto-steers
PTZ cameras to follow detected targets for greater detail without human
intervention. Targets are visually displayed on the video management
system while the target’s location is presented on the SightMonitor map or a
Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) system.
The all-in-one ULISSE systems integrate a 360° rotating pan and tilt
head with a camera and housing and a multiprotocol telemetry receiver.
SightTrackers use GPS-based target information provided by an associated
SightSensor detection camera to automatically guide the ULISSE systems
to follow detected targets for greater detail without human intervention.
PureTech Systems’ Video Analytics Now Integrated with
OnSSI VMS
PureTech Systems has announced that its PureActiv video analytics
solution has been integrated with OnSSI ‘s Ocularis video surveillance
platform. The integration allows users of OnSSI’s Ocularis software to
utilize advanced video detection features in its alarm capabilities, such as
real object size, real target size and real location (3D-latitude, longitude
and elevation).
Ocularis is OnSSI’s video management system combines network video
recorders (NVRs) with physical security information management (PSIM)
functionality. The integration allows Ocularis to provide alerts utilizing PureTech Systems’ intelligent video analytic algorithms. In addition
to being able to alarm using geospatial parameters: real object size, real

cross track speed, real forward track speed and real position, the integration provides the ability to provide a host of zone based alarms (wrong
direction, entering zone, leaving zone, etc.) and alarms based on behavioral
analytics (crowding, dropped object, loitering, etc.). The suite of alarms
also includes PureActiv’s learning background algorithm, which reduces
nuisance events and allows for high accuracy detection even with substantial background movement.
HID Global Brings HID Technology to ASSA ABLOY’s
Aperio Wireless Lock Family
HID Global’s parent company
ASSA ABLOY´s Aperio wireless
lock family can now deliver genuine
HID for performance, value and service, including interoperability with
Seos credentials from HID Global
and ASSA ABLOY, and with the HID
Global iCLASS SE reader platform.
Aperio lock technology enables doors
to be integrated into an access control
system without having to install wiring, make any structural changes to the
doors, or modify existing access control credentials or system software.
Aperio lock technology provides organizations with a way to wirelessly link mechanical door locks to new or existing access control systems
so that the doors can be opened with RFID cards rather than keys. As a
certified Genuine HID Technology, Aperio also supports HID Global’s
iCLASS SE platform, which is an adaptable, interoperable and secure
access control solutions, and includes Seos credentials for improved security, privacy and portability. Additionally, Aperio locks support iCLASS,
MIFARE and DESFire, as well as low frequency 125 kHz HID Prox and
EM410x technologies.
By certifying ASSA ABLOY’s Aperio wireless lock family as a
Genuine HID Technology, ASSA ABLOY and HID Global give Aperio
customers the assurance that these products are supported by an array
of interoperable solutions that have been enhanced by an international
network of partnerships and alliances and are manufactured in worldwide
ISO-certified facilities.
Aperio customers also benefit from interoperability with the HID
Global iCLASS SE platform and Seos credentials. Based on open standards, the iCLASS platform ensures that technology investments can be
leveraged in the future, and that today’s access control solutions will work
with future products including those using NFC-enabled smartphones and
other devices.
Hikvision Launches X55 Low-Light Network Cameras
Hikvision has released
a series of low-light
network cameras, the
X55 series, that enables
users to achieve vision of
details in extremely dark
environments. There are
four models in the series:
the DS-2CD755F-E(I)(Z) indoor dome camera, DS-2CD7255F-E(I)Z(H)
outdoor dome camera, DS-2CD855F-E network box camera and DS2CD8255F-EI(Z) bullet camera. Each offers super low light technology
(up to 0.05 lux/f1.2, with AGC on), and boasts of a full high-definition
output and noise reduction technology (3D DNR).
With a minimum illumination of 0.05 lux @ F1.2, these cameras have
a level of sensitivity that allows users to discern colors, shapes, sizes and
movements in near complete darkness. Coupled with a wide range, the
most meticulous details can be brought to life and captured with clarity.
Each of the models in the series captures images of up to 2 megapixels and provides full HD 1080p real-time video recording. The DS2CD8255F-EI(Z) and DS-2CD7255F-E(I)Z(H) both incorporate a weather
proof rating of IP66 and operate in a range of weather conditions including
a temperature range of -10°C to 60°C and humidity of up to 90 percent.
