It’s balanced, and a great buy at the price. Tri-Vin Imports, Mount Vernon, NY 181101 112 W I N E & S P I R I T S A P R I L 2 0 1 2 | Caves São João $ 2007 Bairrada Frei João (Best Buy) This has the cool scent of a coastal forest, hinting at eucalyptus. What it doesn’t have is the aggressive tannins of Bairradas of old. Its sweet fruit flavor warms up the finish, ending soft 2009 Douro Charme Charme, not Charmes. It’s not Burgundy, it’s Douro, but you can love it for the same reasons.
