Strong safety nets look like
help, happiness,
healing, and health.
Thriving communities in Wyoming have strong safety nets that are
founded on the values generations of Wyomingites have championed:
finding ways to make a home and living on rugged terrain, to create
entertainment, cultural activities, and recreational opportunities to enjoy,
to conserve the environment, and to care for our neighbors whether
they're a quarter acre away or miles away on a dirt road. Nonprofits are
essential to our quality of life, providing services to everyone-from the
most vulnerable to the most resource-secure.
A strong safety net cares for the welfare of children in after-school clubs,
single moms dreaming of a better job, and seniors in senior citizen
centers; it also looks like educational and sports opportunities,
community music festivals, and well-cared for museums. It includes
substance abuse care, suicide prevention, and a multitude of health and
wellness initiatives; service to all in need is a foundational principle. A
strong safety net looks like a safe place to live for people-and pets-
and develops leaders who don't forget that matters.
A strong safety net is our goal today and in the future.
