ViaLite Lets Customers
Design	Own	RF	Over	Fiber	
Systems Online

V

iaLite customers can now design their
own RF over fiber systems online.
Developed for complex designs where
multiple DWDM products are required, the
new cloud-based System Designer is the first
of its kind for RF over fiber links, simplifying
the design process and allowing customers
to visualize and confirm performance
characteristics prior to purchase and
deployment. Designed and built in-house,
the tool uses a drag-and-drop approach,
enabling users to select items from a pallet
of components and build up their system
design. Once completed, the customer can
analyze their design using a built-in process
which calculates the end-to-end system
performance and records the results to file.
"This ground-breaking tool demonstrates
our commitment to customers and the
vision of a vastly simplified design process,
giving customers the power to manipulate
and try different deployment setups before
purchasing," says John Golding, Product
Manager, ViaLite.
Designs can be published as a PDF
document, incorporating a link performance
summary, parts list, rack usage and

schematic output of the full end-to-end
system. Four license options are available,
starting with a single day limited access trial.
Standard and Premium licenses give more
access to features for more complex designs
over periods of up to 12 months. Subscription
costs are waived if the user purchases a
certified design, created using the system.
ViaLite offers an optional paid Design
Architect service, enabling the user to have
their system design fully assessed and
checked by a ViaLite expert. On approval, a
ViaLite certified design number is added to
the design. The tool subscription costs are
waived if the user then purchases a certified

cable division of bedea Berkenhoff & Drebes

DataPath Unveils New
Maritime Satcom Solution

ataPath has entered into the maritime
satcom market with the signing of an
exclusive reseller agreement with Advanced
Stabilized Technologies Group (ASTG) of
Stockholm, Sweden. DataPath will market
and sell the solution under the brand name
DataPath Maritime Antenna System.
The antennas are built with a unique
4-axes gimbal technology, which is
ideal for vessels operating in harsh and
unfriendly environments, needing no loss
of electromagnetic compatibility, radio
performance or reliability.

Qream has entered into a new agreement
with LG Uplus. The partnership is expected
to improve LG Uplus' network operations and
efficiencies, reduce costs and downtime, and
offer better quality of service to customers.
The use of the IBM POWER9-based
IBM Power Systems AC922 server with
NVIDIA V100 Tensor Core GPUs and IBM
FlashSystem 9100 storage will grow LG
Uplus' capacity to perform faster queries
of massive amounts of data previously
unavailable with its current infrastructure.
