Telescript's Expert and The News
Newscasters across the world all have the same goal - to deliver content

I

t's a wonder that news anchors are able
to deliver breaking news almost as fast as
the news happens. But with today's modern
studio technology, that job is a little less
difficult thanks to tools like Telescript's Expert
prompting information system.
Equipped with all of the tools required
to keep on-camera hosts up-to-date with
all of the information needed to deliver a
seamless stream of news, Telescript's
Expert provides the host with the prompted
script, a reference monitor, a time clock
and a tally system. Long gone are the days
of handwritten notes and cue cards to alert
news anchors of breaking news. Nowadays,

on-camera tools.

Telescript starts with its base FPS Studio
system. This system can be equipped with
either a 15", 17" or 19" high bright LED
backlit teleprompter monitor. These highly
reliable monitors come equipped with SDI,
analog, HDMI, and VGA.

tally changes from green to red when the
camera is taken on-air via the light sensor
that sits atop the camera's tally light. It can
also be triggered by the cameras internal tally
system if required. Telescript's ClockOne also
mounts easily to every Telescript monitor.
This digital clock can keep its own time of
day and accepts LTC time code. Like the
TallyOne, the ClockOne also changes color
from green to red when the camera is taken.
Finally, the reference monitor is a 16x9,
17.3-inch lightweight which mounts
just under the ClockOne and completes
the Expert system, giving it the look of a
seamless hardware system, despite being
individual components.
"As this system is built as components,
parts can be removed or added very easily,"
says Jim Murphy, Product Specialist at
Telescript. "There are times where a studio
initially wants just a basic prompting system
for their studio. But as their needs evolve,
so does the type of equipment they require.
