Sony PCL Buys
Pablo Rio 8K
JPN: Tokyo-based Sony PCL has
placed an order with Quantel for
a Pablo Rio 8K editing, colour
correction and finishing system.
The Pablo Rio 8K will be the
backbone of Sony PCL's 8K post
pipeline when the company
launches the world's first
commercial 8K production service
from its Creation Center.
Sony PCL Inc. will also move its
existing Pablo Rio 4K HFR system
into a new suite alongside the
Pablo Rio 8K, further increasing
customer choice and convenience.

FotoKem Embraces
Avid Everywhere
USA: FotoKem, one of the largest
post-production houses in Los
Angeles, has purchased Avid Artist
| DNxIO interfaces to accelerate
production of their 4K projects.
Combined with Media Composer
video editing software, Avid Artist
| DNxIO will give FotoKem the
creative tools it needs to more
quickly and efficiently create highresolution media.
FotoKem's credits include the
features Interstellar and San
Andreas, and primetime television
shows including Better Call Saul,
Homeland and Dancing with the
Stars.

system was used for video judging
as the elite of European Slalom
canoeists met in Germany for
the Canoe Slalom European
Championships.
During the competition at Canoe
Park Markkleeberg (Saxony) the
HD video system was used as an
additional tool for monitoring the
gates, which competitors should
pass without touching the rods.
It offered the organisers and
the
referees
unprecedented
opportunities
to
clarify
controversial scenes, thus ensuring
more fairness during competition.

Singapore's MediaCorp
Adopts never.no STORY
