Appoint Evans As EVP
USA: Technicolor PostWorks New
York has appointed Scot Evans
as Executive Vice President of
Business Development.
Evans will direct sales, marketing
and customer relations for
the company throughout Latin
America.
He will seek to develop new
business both among local feature
film and television producers and
among U.S. producers working in
those markets.
In 2014, Evans oversaw the launch
of Mexico City operations for
London-based, VFX specialist MPC.
Previously, he served as VP and MD
of Technicolor, Vancouver for
four years.
He was the CEO and
founder of a trio of Mexico
City
post-production
facilities and served as
President of Virgin
Television, Mexico.

Chroma-Q Business
Development Role
USA: Premium performance LED
lighting solutions manufacturer
Chroma-Q has appointment Jessica
Allan, in a new International
Business Development role.
Allan is responsible for overseeing
development of the Chroma-Q
brand in the EMEA (Europe,
Middle East & Africa) and APAC
(Asia-Pacific) international sales
territories.
This position is a result of ChromaQ's continued strong ongoing
growth in the global entertainment
and commercial lighting markets.
Allan will work closely with
Chroma-Q Brand Manager,
John Fuller, to promote
their
fast-growing
portfolio of lighting
solutions designed for
entertainment, film &
television, architectural
and other key market
segments.

SMPTE Awarded
Technology Emmy
T

he National Academy
of Television Arts &
Sciences
(NATAS)
has
awarded SMPTE an Emmy
Award for Technology and
Engineering for its work
on Standardization and
Pioneering
Development
of Non-Live Broadband
Captioning.
The award was presented
to SMPTE, Netflix, Home Box
Office (HBO), Telestream,
and the World Wide Web
Consortium (W3C) during
the Annual Technology & Engineering
Emmy Awards ceremony, held during
CES.

a pioneer with ESPN and the 2013

winner of SMPTE's prestigious David
Sarnoff Medal, was recognised with a
NATAS Lifetime Achievement Award.

work," said SMPTE Executive
Director Barbara Lange. "I also
wish to congratulate Chuck for
receiving
his
well-deserved

The Emmy Award recognises
the work of SMPTE, and its
members, in developing and
publishing the SMPTE Timed Text
(SMPTE-TT) profile.
This enables content that is closedcaptioned when on television to be
closed-captioned when offered via the
Internet.
