At BSC Expo
GBR: Ncam will demo its Ncam
Reality at BSC Expo 2016.
The real-time camera tracking
provides live pre-visualisation
of environments, set extensions
and CGI elements in camera
while shooting. The Ncam system
sensor bar provides positional
information to a graphics engine,
allowing real and virtual elements
to be combined in the viewfinder or
monitor in real-time.
The camera position, lens
metadata and timecode is captured
to a file during takes, eliminating
time consuming matching in post.

DiGiCo Intro
Stealth Core2
GBR: DiGiCo has announced its
intention to release Stealth Core2
upgrade.
It will provide a new screen GUI
and deliver additional processing
power from the audio core of
DiGiCo SD consoles.
Stealth Core2 promises: full
dynamic EQ on every channel and
bus; an increase in the SD9 channel
count from 48 to 96 channels
(96kHz); and an increase in the
SD7's total number of processing
strips to 600 (96kHz). It will be
available as an upgrade option.

Glensound's Big 'Five-O'
GBR: There are few audio
broadcast engineers who have
not used Glensound products
in the last 50 years. Glensound
MD Gavin Davis says: "I take the
responsibility of the reputation

International showcased
its top of the range M-1 rig.
One of the first to be
delivered went to Max Zaher,
a Steadicam operator based
in Germany and shooting
internationally.
Zaher said: "Setup has to be
fast and solid and the M-1 can
do this. I can quickly balance
and change modes and I love
that it's all tool free, including
the G70x arm ... It's easy to
maintain static and dynamic
balance in either high mode
or low mode, and to switch

back and forth is a matter of minutes,
which frees me to concentrate on the
real job of shooting."
Los Angeles based Steadicam
operator Neal Bryant said: "What
immediately stands out about the sled
is I have the ability to position the
masses anywhere I like. I can have the
monitor high and the batteries low, or I
can make the rig completely coplanar,
all in the span of about 30 seconds.
"It's obvious that a lot of thought and
care was put into every facet of this
rig."
Attendees at the show saw the M-1
rigged with the G-70x arm and Exovest
combination.

PESA Cheetah Runs Campus AV

he RTA School of Media at Ryerson
University in Toronto recently
installed a PESA Cheetah 128NE digital
video router to manage audio and
video signals throughout the Rogers
Communication Centre.
The router is also used to help
manage the Global Campus Network, a
Ryerson-led international collaborative
student media initiative.
The RTA School of Media's three
studios are now connected through the
PESA router.
It is also an important component for
the new Allan Slaight Radio Institute
within the school, where it manages
the cameras and microphones
throughout the facility's multiple
control rooms, interview suites, and
announcer booths.

Manager
of
Production and Facilities for the RTA

School of Media, said: "The ability for
us to join spaces together is really
critical. You want the ability to link
people and places quickly and simply
as possible, and the PESA router has
allowed us to do that. It has been able
to meet any need we could imagine

and allowed us to do things at a
much higher level than we could have
before."
Faculty, staff, and students use
Cattrax, PESA's Windows-based system
control software, to monitor and
manage the Cheetah router.
