AOC cables in armoured design with
connector protection.
Thanks to the integrated stainless
steel corrugated tube, the cable can
withstand tensile forces of up to 800N
- the strain relief of the connectors
can take a maximum of 650N. Despite
these extreme values, the cable with
halogen-free and notch-resistant
PUR jacket is just 5.8mm thin and has
a minimum bending radius of just
20mm, says the company.
The connectors are fitted with
Glandmaster protective sleeves for this

purpose during transport - the cap is
protected against loss with a stainless
steel rope. This makes the cables ideal
for rough mobile use.
At NAB 2019, LEMO debuted a
new version of their SMPTE/HDTV
Connector, the 3K.93C.Y, for the
broadcast camera market. For the
assemblers, this new connector
features fewer components and
tooling, simplified assembly, and a
reduction in lead times. This hybrid
connector has a compact design with
two single-mode fibre contacts, two
power contacts and two signal contacts
for HD camera interconnection
systems and is 4K ready, fully
compatible with the SMPTE 304
standard.
LEMO has also enhanced its range
of Halo connectors with additional
product sizes and models. Initially
launched in the B series, this product
is now also available in the T series, a
watertight IP68 connector.
This new product range, configurable
through the embedded electronics,
features a wide range of colours with
a RGB indicator arranged in a ring
around the connector. The three

different designs are called LEG, LMG
(with a standby light) and LNG (with a
narrow ring shape light).
Optical Cable Corporation (OCC) has
launched a new family of cabling and
connectivity solutions for broadcasting
that addresses the needs of 4K and
8K. "Some applications require cable
capable of exceptional flexibility,
hybrid fibre-and-copper configuration,
or have varying requirements for
flame retardancy," explains Scott
Fitzgerald, OCC Senior Engineer. "This
family of SMPTE cable offerings is
engineered to handle virtually any
application requirement."
Among
these
high-bandwidth,
low-signal-loss
cables
designs
are highly flexible cables that
enable quick and frequent camera
movement, riser/plenum versions
for permanent installations, and
3-in-1 SMPTE compatible cables to
transport three cameras' signals in
one location with only a single cable
run. The new OCC line also includes
a selection of modular enclosures
specifically designed for SMPTE 304
or other commonly used broadcast
connections.

supporting both 3G-SDI and HDMI 2.0
interfaces on broadcast equipment.
Each provides a reliable method
of sending AV over a 10G Ethernet
network, allowing broadcasters to
take advantage of the benefits of IPenabled distribution systems.

3G-SDI/ST2110
over IP Uncompressed Gateway
Converter connects SDI cameras and
other equipment to a 10G Ethernet
network and supports the ST-2110
standard. The HDMI 2.0/ST2110 over IP
Uncompressed Gateway Converter also
supports ST-2110, giving broadcasters
the ability to manage AV connectivity
anywhere.
