WISI Boosts Optimised B2B Solutions

ISI will unveil various optimised
solutions
for
the
extension and operation of next
generation networks at IBC on
stand 1.D37.
WISI has extended its 4400
platform in a new chassis that offers
higher density and more flexibility for
the operator.
The 4440 provides 25% more
capacity than its predecessor, the
4430, and includes four expansion
bays to support 4x transcode modules.
It supports linear transcoding of up to
48x HD or 120x SD sources and ABR
transcoding of up to 24x HD sources to
4x ABR profiles or up to 48x SD sources
to 2x ABR profiles. All in just one rack
unit of space, with integrated grooming
and monitoring of all streams.
Operators receive greater flexibility
with the ability to select between
GigE or SFP+ network options and
AC or DC power options. It supports
high-density audio transcoding
between Dolby Digital AC-3,
Dolby Digital EC-3, MPEG-Audio,
AAC sources and outputs and
now supports encoding to Dolby

Digital AC-3 and EC-3. Like all Inca
products, it includes powerful and
easy-to-use VidiOS management and
troubleshooting tools with inbound
and outbound video thumbnails,
stream download, extensive statistical
analysis, and end-to-end process
logging.
The new HXC module, compatible
with the existing Inca Modular Series
4400, supports transcoding of nextgeneration HEVC for future proofing
and optimising video distribution. The
HEVC codec provides compression
savings of up to 40% while maintaining
picture quality. Signals received in

HEVC can be converted by the Inca
Modular Series 4400 back to MPEG-4
AVC or MPEG-2 to ensure compatibility
with legacy equipment.
WISI has also extended the Inca
Modular Series 4400 feature set
by added N+1 Chassis Redundancy,
compatible with Source Specific
Multicast (SSM) infrastructure.
The high-density and power-efficient
Inca ABR Transcoder 3840 offers
market-leading cost per stream and is
an ideal solution for rapid deployment
and reliable OTT video delivery. It sets
new performance standards in the
international market, is optimised for

multiscreen and OTT applications and
can transcode up to 24 HD or
48 SD video services to framealigned, multi-bitrate profiles in
a single rack unit.
To ensure high availability,
the carrier-grade adaptive bitrate
transcoder has been expanded to
include N+1 chassis redundancy
with support for multicast source IP
masquerading for Source Specific
Multicast (SSM) compatibility.
The ABR Transcoder 3840 has been
approved and certified for MOBITV
CONNECT deployments in the North
American market.
WISI has expanded its FIREFLY
Platform with open source video
transport protocol and technology
stack SRT (Secure Reliable Transport).
SRT is a cost-saving technology for
transmitting video content over
the public Internet, rather than
broadcasting it via expensive satellite
links.
WISI is also expanding the
4400 platform to support
receiving and sending SRT
streams.

Rohde & Schwarz Launches High-Power
Solid-State Satellite Uplink Amplifier

t IBC2019, Rohde & Schwarz
(stand 7.B21) will extend its range
of solid-state satellite uplink amplifiers
with the launch of a new high-power
model.
The R&S PKU100-O750 is rated
within 750W power class and is
designed for outdoor operation - it
represents the world's most compact
and lightweight high-power satellite
amplifier that is based on solid-state
technology. Together with all of the
Rohde & Schwarz R&S PKU satellite
amplifier family, this new model will be
commercially available at IBC.
Although the R&S PKU100-O750 is
rated at 750W, it comes in a superior
form factor, representing the most
compact and lightweight high-power
satellite amplifier available on the
market today. Furthermore, through
a rigorous research and development
process, Rohde & Schwarz's design
engineers have achieved the highest
power efficiency of any amplifier
within its power category.

the product it is easy to maintain
