CommScope Helps Foxtel
Redefine Aussie TV

ommScope has announced its
continued partnership with Foxtel,
Australia's leading Pay TV operator,
to bring The New Foxtel Experience to
subscribers across the country.
The New Foxtel Experience leverages
CommScope technology to deliver
thousands of hours of TV and ondemand movies as well as access to
Netflix for subscribers through Foxtel's
iQ4 set-top box. Whether subscribers
are streaming videos, recording live
programming, or browsing through
Foxtel's massive on-demand library,
the iQ4 makes it simple to get
everything they want all in one place.
CommScope's Professional Services
group worked with Foxtel to deliver
the iQ4's full-stack software platform,

which integrates to multiple
back-office
systems
to provide a seamless
broadcast and IP connected
user experience.
The
iQ4combines
broadcast satellite and
IP capabilities in a single,
powerful device capable
of delivering 4K broadcast
resolution, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and a 1TB
hard-drive - allowing subscribers to
watch what they want, when they
want, the way it was meant to be
watched.

Times Network Selects Quicklink TX

ndia's Times Network have adopted
the Quicklink TX Quad to introduce
guest contributions into their live daily
news bulletins.

Times Network India deploys Quicklink Tx

Times Network, headquartered in
Mumbai, India, has a global presence
across 100 countries and includes
prestigious brands such as Times Now,
ET Now, Mirror Now, Movies
Now, MN+, Romedy Now and
MNX. Times Now News, the
digital arm of Times Network,
has adapted itself to serve the
diverse nature, interests and
delivery of its content-savvy
audience.
"We use the Quicklink TX in
our daily news bulletins and our
recorded shows. The quality of
our Quicklink TX is excellent,

and the configuration was simple and
straight forward," said Vignan Kumar,

The Quicklink TX, designed in
partnership with Microsoft, is a video
call management system. It is a
transceiver that enables professional
reception and transmission of multiple
Skype video calls through SDI inputs/
outputs and HDMI interface.
As the Quicklink Skype TX can receive
from and send to any Skype user it
provides unrivalled global access to
millions of Skype users in order to
broadcast the calls in HD quality.

G&D KVM Presence At Inter BEE 2019

VM manufacturers Guntermann
& Druck (G&D) will be presenting
a
range
of
high-performance
KVM systems for broadcast and
entertainment professionals at this
year's Inter BEE in Tokyo.
Together with their partners from
DIGIcas, G&D will be showcasing
their latest innovation for
transmission over IP - a KVM
matrix for KVM-over-IP.
With the ControlCenter-IP, the
ControlCenter-Digital and the
ControlCenter-Compact, G&D
present three first-class digital
matrix systems that meet
the pulse of time. Whether
transmission via IP structures

or classically dedicated, whether
compact or modular, G&D will bring
the best of both worlds to Japan. In
addition, the company provides the
broadest KVM portfolio on the market
and can always come up with effective
solutions for the versatile technical
requirements of the broadcast

According to their quality promise

Shanxi TV
Deploys
Second Brio
C

hina-based Shanxi Television has
chosen a Calrec Brio36 audio
console for its news programming and
multi-purpose talk shows.
The Brio is installed in a new studio,
which was initially used for covering
the recent China National Youth
Games with more than 10 hours of live
broadcasting produced in the studio
each day. This is the broadcaster's
second Brio installation with the first
installed a year ago.
Mr Wu Jie, Supervisor of the
technical department of Shanxi
Television, commented, "We have
been very happy with our first Brio,
which has proved to be intuitive to use,
with great sound quality and stability.
The last point is very important. The
intuitive I/O connections and simpleto-use software and surface helped us
save a lot of time during installation in
this new studio and with the training,
too."

Calrec Shanxi TV Brio

Shanxi Television is a network in
the Taiyuan and Shanxi province that
broadcasts in Jin Chinese. For the
China National Youth Games, they
received signals from multiple venues
and the hosts and guests adding
commentary and comment in the
studio.
Mr Wu Jie explains that they set up
the new studio in 10 days, with five
days of training, with the Brio's clear
design making it easy for operators
to master quickly. Also, functions like
swapping a fader on an individual
strip, ALT-input, auto mixing and the
fact that labelling channel strips is
easy are also highlighted, along with
the support Calrec partner RAC Pro
provided throughout the process.
Later this year, Shanxi Television
will be working with 4K content and
they anticipate that the Brio's 5.1
capabilities and expandability will
make the use of 4K go smoothly.
