Hitachi Kokusai Electric Comark Announces
EC705LP-AT1 and EC720LP-AT1 Air-Cooled
Transmitters for LPTV

itachi Kokusai Electric Comark
LLC (COMARK), a manufacturer
and supplier of DTV transmitters,
encoding systems, and associated
field services for over 45 years, has
announced the introduction of the
E-Compact EC705LP-AT1 (50W) and
EC720LP-AT1 (125W) series highefficiency air-cooled solid-state UHF
DTV transmitters.
These transmitters are being
released specifically for requirements
of the LPTV repack market.
These two new models, EC705LPAT1 and EC720LP-AT1, incorporate
the ATSC exciter, driver, and final PA
into a single rack-mountable chassis.
The EC720LP-AT1 includes a slot that
can accommodate a second, optional
backup power supply for 100%
redundancy.
The power supplies utilise a front
panel plug-in connection for quick

service. The air-cooled PA design
includes automatic cooling fan
speed control that provides lower
acoustic noise levels during operation
and saves electrical energy while
increasing the life span of the fans.
Customers can either mount the
transmitter in their existing equipment
rack cabinet or an optional 10RU rack
supplied by COMARK.
The
EC700LP-AT1
series
of
transmitters feature System-on-Chip
(SoC) technology.
SoC integrates
multiple system elements into a
compact architecture utilising high
power processing power and superior
reliability.
SoC embeds powerful software
such as MER measurements, IMD
measurements, as well as linear
and non-linear automatic digital
pre-correction.
The transmitters include front panel

controls, comprehensive web-GUI,
and SNMP for remote control and
monitoring.
An optional off-air receiver is
available so that these units can be
operated as a translator.
The E-Compact family is compact

TV, one of Europe's longest
established providers of mobile
television production facilities, has
chosen Leader LV7300 and LV7600
rasterizing waveform monitors as
master reference instruments for
its OB3 and OB12 outside broadcast
vehicles.
"Leader test instruments have
proved highly reliable, efficient and
operator friendly right back to our
first purchase of LV7770 multi-SDI
rasterizers six years ago," comments
Paul Francis, CTV's CTO. "Some of
the projects we work on are massive
in scale, taking in feeds from well
over 100 cameras. High-precision
monitoring of HD and UHD signal
flow is vital, both to achieve accurate
matching of incoming feeds and to
ensure that we are maintaining the
full available dynamic range from
source right through to output. This
latest purchase comprises 12 LV7300
and two LV7600 instruments. Both
models can be fully operated from the

front panel which, combined with their
compact size, makes them ideal for use
in OB suites. We normally assign the
output to a multiscreen display where
it can be viewed easily from any part
of a production suite. The LV7300 and
LV7600 have a very similar control
menu structure so operators can move
freely between them."
Thameside TV Sales Manager Chris

jitter measurement, closed-caption
monitoring, CIE colour chart, HDR
measurement, focus assist, operatorconfigurable screen layout, tally
interface, 4K/UHD operation, 10G
IP input and 12G-SDI interfaces.
SMPTE 2022-6, SMPTE 2022-7 and
the recently published SMPTE 2110
protocols are all supported.
