discusses the recent product developments from
the company...
InBroadcast: Can you give us
a brief overview of what we can
expect in the next 6-12 months
within your sector?
Tod Musgrave: We have seen
a clear shift in focus to remote
workflows. The broadcast
industry was already moving
towards REMI productions,
but the pandemic put this
into overdrive, with many
being pushed to make that
transition sooner than later to work
remotely. In addition to broadcast, we
are seeing this trend in the education
sectors with remote learning as well
as telemedicine. In terms of sports,
unique angles being captured by POV
and PTZ cams add to the audience
experience. As sporting events begin
to resume, beginning with no audience
and then moving towards limited,
social distanced audiences, these onthe-field perspectives become even
more important for fan engagement.
Marshall Electronics is seeing
massive growth in remote streaming
of all types; remote collaboration,
reporting, entertaining, learning,
teaching, broadcast, and areas
where people are connecting over
videoconference, internet and social
media.
InB: Can you explain the benefits
in regard to the latest product
announcements?
TM: We recently announced four
new IP cameras, the CV730-BK PTZ
Camera, the CV630-IP PTZ Camera,
the CV420-30X-IP Camera, and the
CV355-30X-IP
Camera,
providing
a range of resolutions from HD to
UHD. These new additions offer our
customers an IP camera model that
fits every specific project need with
multiple simultaneous outputs. These
new products allow our customers to
easily integrate versatile high-quality
video into any IP-based workflows and
stream live to YouTube, Facebook, and
others.

provides up to UHD (3840x2160)
video resolutions at 60fps through

IP, HDMI, and 12GSDI simultaneous
outputs; the CV630-IP PTZ Camera
offers UHD (3840x2160) resolution
up to 30fps through IP and HDMI
outputs, and 1920x1080p (HD) outputs
at 60fps through 3GSDI; the CV42030X-IP Zoom Camera provides up to
UHD (3840x2160p) resolution at
60fps through simultaneous HDMI
and IP streams; and the CV355-30XIP delivers up to HD (1920x1080p)
resolution at 60fps through 3G/HDSDI, IP, and HDMI. All four models
offer 30X optical zoom range, allowing
users to capture fine detail from
longer distances.
Also, while they cannot be
considered new, our line of USB
cameras has seen a major uptick in

demand. Traditionally reserved
more for our corporate and
AV customers, the need has
grown to encompass anyone
looking for a high-quality USB
camera for their work from
home set ups. In addition, our
VAC-23SHU3 USB 3.0 adapter
is also very relevant right now,
as it enables any HDMI or 3G/HD-SDI
video to be ingested into a computer
for live streaming, video conference,
collaboration, video production, and
recording.

InB: What challenges did you face
when launching these products?
TM: We have faced some recent
challenges in relation to delays
specific to COVID-19 and social
distancing; design engineers are
remote collaborating, there are
some supply chain shortages on
components, we moved the production
line further apart for safe hand-offs
and social distancing requirements,
and we have seen shipping delays with
fewer shipping vehicles.
InB: Which territories do you
think will show particular
interest?
TM: Our products are relevant for
the global marketplace - footage
from our cameras can be seen
across multiple territories. With the
current state of the world, we're all
in the same boat with navigating a
new normal. The silver lining is that
this has forced us to figure out how
to stay connected digitally while
social distancing. Marshall is happy
to help make that happen from
both a corporate and personal
perspective.

InB:
Any
future
product
innovations ahead that you can
discuss?
TM: We've just completed a
collaboration with BR Remote out of
England that provides a micro pan/
tilt mount head for Marshall miniature
cameras, essentially a PT camera
system that fits in the palm of your
hand. We are continually adding more
and more camera models in different
configurations creating tools that
make our cameras easier to use and
enhance the production value for our
integrator partners.
InB: Can you advise on your ideal
market for these products?
TM: Marshall has become a global
source for camera solutions for
broadcast, pro AV, UCC, and many
more markets. For broadcast,
our products are sourced when
a production needs a unique POV
with a broadcast quality image at a
competitive price point. Our cameras
can complement any broadcast, by
capturing the angles when a larger
format camera simply can not.
