Interra Cloud Services (ICS) is a new
subscription-based service allowing
automated quality control of file-based
content. It is initially being offered
for the company's Baton automated
quality control platform running on
Amazon Web Services infrastructure,
with plans to add more advanced QC
capabilities in the future, including
machine learning-based captions and
lip sync.
"By offloading the task of running
and
maintaining
on-premises
infrastructure,
our
customers,
especially post-production houses and
companies with modest QC needs,
can now perform QC operations
more efficiently and at a reduced
cost," says Interra Systems' VP of

Qligent has introduced version 3.10
of its Vision media monitoring and
analysis software. Free to existing
customers with a valid support
contract and running on the Linux
CentOS platform, the new version can
be integrated with Wasabi's cloud
platform for video, audio and data
storage. Vision v3.10 is claimed to
strengthen software security, improve
measurement and more efficiently
communicate performance through
scheduled reports. Qligent also now
offers broader access to on-demand

Leader's Zen series test instruments
feature QoE monitoring and logging
tools. These include video freeze error
detection which allows an operator
to set what percentage of each active
picture is monitored over a specified
time range, along with the number of
consecutive frames over which errors
must occur to be recognised as an
error. Black error, luminance error
and chroma error monitoring is also
provided. Gamut error detection allows
an operator to set upper and lower
limits thresholds including EBU R103
presets. As well as logging the exact
frame that the gamut error occurred,
'real-time' false colour display can
highlight the area of the picture
affected by the errors.

identify and correct QoE issues quickly

schedule enhanced reports detailing
media performance at specific times.
The reports use the software's
real-time data analysis capabilities
to gather specific performance
information and generate reports
for presentation on a customisable
dashboard.

Rohde & Schwarz defines its Smart
platform as a fully integrated solution
platform covering all use cases and
test situations during the life of a
mobile network. It is a modular system
comprising data collection hardware

and analytic software. SmartOne
mobile network testing software
is designed to run on a laptop PC.
It provides support for Qualcomm,
Samsung Exynos and HiSilicon
chipsets. Among other elements on the
platform are SmartAnalytics, Smart
Benchmarker, SmartMonitor and the
TSMx multi-network scanner.
Telestream's Sentry is a softwarebased quality monitor. A recent
addition is TekMOS picture quality
scorer which employs a machinelearning algorithm to create a model
from a large set of training images. It
then computes scores based on this
model without requiring any reference
video.
Telestream claims that its TekMOS
scores have a high correlation with the
subjective scores gained from visual
inspection by human observers. Sentry
is designed to identify long-duration

and short duration quality issues.
Results are displayed graphically,
allowing an overall assessment of
content quality to be made without an
operator having to look at a long list of
individual defects.
Solarwinds' NetFlow traffic analyser
and bandwidth monitoring software
offers features such as network traffic
analysis, distributed switch support,
performance analysis and application
recognition.
Subscription
and
perpetual licences are available.
Witbe's QoE Monitoring Robots
are a combination of hardware and
software that are claimed to be able
to reproduce end-user behaviour
such as renting a video on demand
programme; monitor live TV and
report on the quality of the video;
communication by phone; send texts
and emails to other devices; and send
social media messages.
