SIPit Pro Simplifies AoIP Deployment
for Gravity Media

IPit Pro was recently used by
Gravity Media to deploy low-delay
Systembase AoIP codecs at a recent F1®
weekend. With one codec dispatched
to a trackside location in Spain and
the other to Woking, England, the job
was reduced to a simple plug-andplay operation by the SIPit Pro cloud
server. This was achieved by one-time
registering each codec with the SIPit
Pro cloud server in advance of the
deployment.
On power up, each codec registers
itself with the cloud server, which in
turn notifies availability to the account
holder via the web GUI. Once both
codecs were indicated as available,
the web GUI was used to initiate an
end-to-end call without any interaction
with the physical codec units. In
this case the calls were established
and monitored using a mobile web
browser.
Now for the clever part, SIPit Pro
has been written to support many
differing brands of audio codec, each

having been technically profiled. SIPit
Pro can therefore mix and match
various codec manufactures with
ease, having removed many of the
common compatibility niggles. For
the professional broadcaster this is
a useful feature as it removes the
issue of pairing each end of a link
with similar codecs to ensure
compatibility.
