Folkman Onboard
At TAG Video Systems

Playout, Delivery and OTT), has appointed
industry veteran Roy Folkman as VP Sales
North America and LATAM effective as of
January 1, 2021. The announcement was
made by Kevin Joyce, TAG Zer0 Friction
Officer, from headquarters in Tel Aviv,
Israel.
Folkman, who is based in Ontario,
Canada, will be responsible for supporting
current customers while increasing TAG's
presence in North America and the Latin
American countries. He will interact closely
with the Company's executive team as
well as all divisions to develop solutions
to amplify productivity and keep TAG
users ahead of the technological curve
in those regions. Folkman launched his
career more than 35 years ago in broadcast
engineering and has held senior roles
with leading companies, most recently as
Strategic Account Manager, North America
for Riedel. Previously he served as VP Sales
North America at  Embrionix, and Strategic
Account Manager, US at Grass Valley.
He also held key sales roles at Miranda
Technologies, Major Technologies and
Acura Technologies.

Drive Workflow Efficiency

network is using Actus Digital's
broadcast monitoring platform to
perform a wide range of missioncritical tasks. Replacing an existing
system, the enterprise version of Actus
Digital's platform ensures superior
video and audio quality for The
Weather Channel while complying with
mandatory industry requirements for
its linear and OTT channels.
Actus Digital's platform goes
beyond the capabilities of traditional
broadcast monitoring systems. It
supports
mandatory
compliance
features such as SCTE-104/35,
loudness, closed captions, and NAVE
while providing The Weather Channel
with real-time alerts on a host of

A/V impairments. Using multiple
load-balancing servers, the platform
ensures uninterrupted, redundant,
and timely response for users. The
platform is also fully integrated with
The Weather Channel's automation
system, expanding content search
and navigation and allowing the
broadcaster to accurately track
the loudness of each asset. To
enhance system security and user
authentication, the platform is fully
integrated with OKTA sign-on.
The Actus Digital system allows The
Weather Channel to record content

at high bitrates and resolutions,
enabling the network to edit and
export high-quality clips to a variety

Archiware Releases Pure
VMware Backup v3.0
A
rchiware GmbH, expert in data
management software, releases
version 3.0 of Pure VMware Backup.
Pure simplifies backup and restore
of virtual machines in the VMware
vSphere environment offering fast,
automated. Installation and setup
can be performed within minutes,
without the need for in-depth technical
expertise.
A key feature of version 3.0 is
the support of cloud-based object
storage services, such as Amazon S3,
Backblaze B2, Microsoft Azure and
others. Backups of virtual machines

can now be cloned to the cloud to
increase data security.
The new Quick Verification
feature reduces verification time
for sparsely provisioned virtual
disks with unallocated areas. Upon
enabling the Quick Verification option,
Archiware Pure queries the ESXi host
for a list of allocated disk blocks and
skips unallocated empty areas.
Improved File Restore enables
instant download of an entire folder as
a .zip archive.
This allows quick browsing of past
backup points, as if they are folders on

a workstation. Once a file is located,
it can quickly be downloaded with a
simple mouse click.
