ny cameraman who travels with
V-Mount batteries and chargers
knows how bulky they can be. Like me,
you probably keep both in your hand
luggage, so if your suitcase gets lost, at
least you still have your batteries and
charger. PAG has introduced a travel
charger and a new series of smaller
batteries that are the ideal travel
solution.

The Micro-Charger is very compact
and fits easily in any bag. In addition
to the normal AC to DC power adapter,
it also includes DC power leads with
vehicle cigarette lighter and USB
connectors, so you can charge your
batteries on the go.
Almost everyone owns a 2A USB
laptop charger, so this is useful.
Charging via USB is a lot slower than
using the AC to DC Adapter, which can
fully-charge one 50Wh Mini PAGlink
battery in just two hours.
The MPL batteries can also be
stacked, so you can charge 4 at the
same time, in 8 hours - how handy is
that!
The
first
thing
I
noticed
when
unboxing the new MPL50 (50Wh)
& MPL99 (99Wh) batteries was the
compact size; my traditional batteries
are more than 5cm bigger! The MPL50
is small, thin and almost cute. The
MPL99 is twice the depth, but the
same height, so that they can be
stacked. My other batteries have a
260Wh capacity, but this is where
stacking comes in handy; three
MPL99 batteries can be stacked
to create 300Wh capacity! An
additional advantage is that you can
hot-swap batteries without having to
restart your device. Also, by stacking
batteries, you will have more power
for a device that 'eats' more energy.
The MPL batteries also feature a USB
output that I can use to charge my
MacBook, phone or tablet. A USB is not
so special I hear you say, but the thing
I really love is that you can swap it for
