Dr Mathias Erb
to Chair ARRI
Executive Board
GER: Dr. Matthias Erb, effective
January 1, 2022, has been appointed
Chairman of the Executive Board of
ARRI. The announcement was made
by the Supervisory Board of the global
film technology company. With this
addition, the Executive Board will
once again, as in 2019, consist of three
members.
In addition to his duties as Chairman
of the Executive Board, Dr. Matthias
Erb is responsible for the strategic
alignment of the business along
with the Finance, HR, Legal, and
Quality
Management departments.
Dr. Michael Neuhaeuser will continue
to focus on operations and technology.
Markus Zeiler will continue to oversee
business and sales.
Accidental Theatre Deploys
LiveU's Multi-Camera Solution
A
charitable organisation based
in
Belfast,
Northern
Ireland
and a non-traditional arts company
that provides a range of creative
opportunities and performance
space
to
performing
artists
across
the city and increasingly the country,
has turned to LiveU's multi-camera
solution to provide reliable, dynamic,
live streaming capabilities, extending
the reach of their performances via
their website.
The pandemic has seen Accidental
Theatre significantly expand its live
streaming capabilities, turning to
LiveU to do so. Lavery and his team
created a small control room and
editing space in the theatre and two
small studios in what were the bank
vaults. They also selected installed a
Blackmagic Atem production system
and moved from a two-camera setup
to a six-camera, including multiple PTZ
cameras.
The new configuration will ensure
that the members of the Executive
Board can focus even more intensively
on
their
respective
areas
while
facilitating the further development of
technologies and business models.
Chairman of the Supervisory Board
at ARRI, Prof. Dr. Hans-Joerg Bullinger,
explains: " ARRI has already taken
successful steps in the transformation
from the analog to the digital age
and has achieved record sales in 2021
despite the coronavirus pandemic.
However, virtualization in our target
markets will continue to advance and
bring about changes to which we must
adapt and, as market leaders, want to
help shape proactively. Therefore, we
will continue to work intensively on
the future alignment of the company.
On behalf of the Supervisory Board, I
wish Dr. Matthias Erb a good start and
great success with these complex and
diverse challenges. "
Dr. Matthias Erb, Chairman of the
Executive Board at ARRI, adds: " I am
very much looking forward to these
exciting tasks, which I will be able
to take on at this great company
and in one of the most interesting
industries. My goal is to position ARRI
for the future just as excellently as it
has been positioned for most of its
over 100-year history. "
LiveU's LU800 production-level field
unit is at the core of the live streaming
setup and is connected to three PTZ
cameras that can either be controlled
onsite or remotely from the control
room back at the Accidental Theatre
venue. On top of that they use an
audio interface that takes a mix out of
the desk - or they can build their own
mix - into an audio embedder into one
of the camera feeds that then comes
back to a LiveU server in the control
room where they do the final mix. They
have one or two operators onsite and
one or two in the control room. The
LiveU Solo is used to provide ultimate
redundancy for the final stream.
Lavery said, " The reliability of the
LiveU technology is a huge benefit.
That's the number one priority for us.
The LU800 has a fantastic balance
between quality and reliability and the
quality is way higher than even I was
expecting. The LU800 is absolutely
rock-solid so we can generate really
high-quality streams. We do think of
what we're doing as an entirely new
platform. It's not going to replace intheatre
performances, of course, but
it's going to make our work much more
accessible across the country. We see a
whole range of new possibilities. "

monitoring points deployed globally.
Kevin Joyce, TAG's Zer0 Friction Officer,
revealed the milestone as he recapped
the Company's 2021 achievements
which also include the launch of its
Media Control System (MCS) developed
to help clients manage, analyze and
improve their media workflows.

Joyce credits TAG's 100% increase in
points probed and monitored during
anticipate

innovate
2021 to the company's capacity to
work with all workflows, support
emerging protocols as fast as they hit
the market, and its ability to enable
customers to operate in the cloud. As
OTT grew exponentially, and with it a
proliferation of delivery formats, TAG
was at the forefront, innovating at
high speed and developing significant
support for cloud enabling remote
production tools required and
requested by customers, including
JPEG XS, NDI 5, Dolby ATMOS, SRT,
AWS Cloud

technologies, every linear channel may
have up to 16 different flavors that
need to be monitored. Workflows must
be deployed in multiple zones around

and emerging sources which allowed
streaming services to work reliably and
