Panzica has been promoted to Senior
Product & Project Manager with a
focus on next generation FM, HD, DAB
& TV broadcast transmitters.
Panzica is based at the Elenos
Group Headquarters in Ferrara, Italy.
Panzica most
recently
Elenos
and
served in
sales management roles in Elenos
Group brands
Itelco
in the European market. Prior to
joining Elenos Group in 2017, Panzica
served for nearly 20 years in senior
leadership roles
in technology,
project management and sales at CTE
Digital Broadcast, a provider of FM
and TV transmission.

For its different production areas,
RAI opted for a V__matrix solution
for guaranteed performance in a
distributed production environment.
The installation, in five production
galleries and six studios, comprises
V__matrix clusters and a VSM system
for studio-related and overarching
system control as well as signal
distribution management.

system integrator in Italy, was
appointed
to revamp the whole
production complex, which
involved Lawo IP infrastructure for
the realization of RAI's vision of
distributed routing and processing
resources
that
assigned
can be pooled
to the desired studios.
This installation not only makes TV
production workflows more flexible
and efficient, but also offers a high
level of redundancy. Thanks to the
all-IP infrastructure, V__matrix units
can be located adjacent to the stages
where production teams host shows
with presenters and guests.

baseband equipment. Even at this
early stage, the benefits for RAI in
their Rome facility
are immense:
distributed routing for facility-wide IP
signal distribution, with conversions
to and from SDI
in
the desired
places, allows for a more flexible
use of facilities and equipment.
The broadcaster can easily
add
new production areas that interact
with all sources and destinations
through additional V__matrix devices
whose ingratiation within the overall
infrastructure will be fast.
The five production areas host
distributed
clusters
of
V__matrix units. Lawo's
Lawo
IP-based
Software-Defined Video Processing
and Multiviewer
Platform, with a
total of 137 C100 processing blades
to provide immense routing and
processing power in any gallery/
studio combination. Each studio is
equipped with two replicated V__
matrix frames with two cards each,
which allows processing of up to 40
incoming and outgoing signals.

compatible live

ecosystem. Included among the NDI®
video production
-
supported offerings is the new HVS190
video switcher, which will debut
at the show.
The new HVS-190 supports high|HX
bandwidth
NDI®
and
NDI®
input and output and marks the
continued expansion of the popular
HVS switcher series. It is a one M/E
version of FOR-A's flagship HVS-490
video switcher and comes standard
with 3G/HD-SDI and HDMI interfaces.
The HVS-190
synchronization and
features frame
processing
amplification on all inputs and is
available in two models. The HVS190S,
with a control panel separate
from the main unit, comes with
eight
inputs/five outputs, and is
expandable to 20 inputs/11 outputs.
The HVS-190I is an integrated
control panel/main unit video
switcher with the same standard
I/O configuration as the HVS-190S
and is expandable to 16 inputs/9
outputs.

Both HVS-190 models
include
keyer, chroma keyer, multi viewer,
still/clip store, macro, and event
memory functions as standard. A
simple, browser-based control and
setup is also supported for both.
The HVS-190 switchers are easily
expandable, with additional multi
view outputs, increased storage with
an added SSD, and optional auxiliary
and tally unit(s).
NDI®
connectivity is provided via an
optional
card,
the HVS-NIF. Each card
provides four inputs/two outputs.
Add up to three cards with the HVS190S
and two with the HVS-190I.
With the HVS-190 switchers, users
can add output from PTZ cameras,
webcams, smartphone camera apps,
computer content, and other sources
and route video/audio from a single
switcher to multiple devices. It also
provides
two-way
communication
with multiple video, audio, control,
or tally systems using only Ethernet
cables. SDI playout and IP streaming
occur
simultaneously,
enabling
mixed or coordinated broadcasts of
both sources.
