officially
launching
the
Sapphire 8JXS-8S - a ST 2110 JPEG-XS
to SDI bulk gateway in openGear
form factor; the
Sapphire BBG2110-H/S
& Sapphire BBG-2110-2H
mini converters that offer a highly
functional and powerful option in
a compact, portable package; and
the recently
introduced
technical
Sapphire
BIDI-2H2S dual channel bidirectional
HDMI-to-SDI/SDI-to-HDMI converter.

available
team will
be
to walk visitors through
the features and benefits of each
product.
Sapphire 8JXS-8S - ST 2110
JPEG-XS to SDI Bulk Gateway
Cobalt is answering the need for
JPEG-XS bulk conversion with
the
Sapphire 8JXS-8S openGear card.
The Sapphire 8JXS-8S is the ideal
choice for receiving large numbers of
JPEG-XS streams over a LAN or WAN
and driving devices such as a router
or a monitor wall. Able to accept
up to 8 independent input JPEG-XS
streams (each with
its associated
audio and ancillary data essences)
and converting them to individual
SDI outputs makes the card the
highest density openGear converter
on the market. Up to five Sapphire
8JSX-8S cards can be installed in
an openGear frame, for a total of 40
SDI signal conversions in a standard
openGear 2RU chassis. The openGear
form factor allows Sapphire 8JSX8S
to
be combined with other
processing in the same chassis,
cards and mini converters with support for ST 2110 JPEG-XS
to SDI bulk gateway and bidirectional HDMI to SDI/SDI to HDM conversion...
and the high density translates into
space and power savings.
The primary use for bulk JPEG-XS
conversion is feeding large numbers
of monitors, in space-constrained
environments such as trucks and OBvans.
In such environments, power
and rack space are at a premium,
and thus
the ability
to combine
multiple conversions in a 2RU frame
is very desirable. This also saves
on 10/25G switch fiber ports, which
are still expensive. Finally, there is
a large number of openGear frames
deployed around the globe, and
the openGear form factor allows
the customers
to combine this
functionality with other processing
functions as desired.
Each
Sapphire card
optional
has
two
SFP cages, supporting both 10G
and 25G Ethernet
switching. Sapphire's
Class-C
operation makes
it
interfaces, and
ST 2022-7 seamless
ST 2022-7
ideal
for use in WAN environments. Like
all Sapphire converters, the card
includes full NMOS support for ease
of configuration in addition to the
standard openGear DashBoard.

Cobalt is also previewing a mini
converter in the Sapphire line for
JPEG-XS to HDMI conversion. JPEG-XS
is
the ideal
technology
for
contributing remote production
streams. It provides extremely low
latency and high quality, at a fraction
of the bandwidth

Sapphire BBG-2110-H/S, a single
channel (one HDMI port), and
Sapphire BBG-2110-2H, a dualchannel
(two HDMI ports). The mini
converters also include full NMOS
support for ease of configuration.

openGear form factor. Each channel

have either SDI or HDMI inputs and

distribution across both sets of
