that each trainer will need to be able to answer concisely. " What is the best way to present the information? " and " What type of role play, activities, and discussions need to be included? " ONCE THE SESSION HAS BEEN PUT TOGETHER, CHECK THAT THESE ITEMS ARE CONSIDERED: * Who should attend? * What is the topic or topics that will be covered? * What materials will be needed? * When will the meeting begin and end? * Where will the meeting be held? * Is it the right room size and configuration? * How will the message be delivered? * Activities for training * Role-play scenarios * In discussion groups * All of the above Great training preparation is not just about what will be said. It is also about taking care of the practical aspects from the checklist above. STEP 3: PRESENTATION Training should be as interactive as possible. I cannot stress this enough. The trainer should not stand up there and give a speech. No team wants to be lectured by anyone. People learn far more from being active participants rather than a passive audience. BE PUNCTUAL The trainer needs to realize that the presentation begins the minute he or she walks through the door. This is true even if the presenter has not said a word. The most basic way to demonstrate the importance of the training sessions is to start on time. Punctuality is another sign of respect. It shows respect for the value placed on the time of those being trained as well as that of the trainer. If each session starts on time, every time, the team will take the training sessions seriously. NOVEMBER DECEMBER 2021 || FIXED OPS MAGAZINE 17http://fixedopsdonate.com
